The Role

The Financial Planning & Analysis professional will support asset planning teams and play a key role in the monthly forecasting process. This individual will serve as a resource for forecasting systems and processes, analyze financial and operational results, and partner with teams across the business to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of planning.

• Review monthly forecasts, including expense, capital, production, and pricing inputs, prior to data extraction and reporting.
• Develop subject matter expertise in Aries and provide guidance, training, and best-practice recommendations to planning teams.
• Partner closely with asset and operational personnel to support forecasting, analysis, and ad hoc business needs.
• Analyze actual results against forecast, identify variances, and recommend appropriate forecast or process adjustments.
• Validate the completeness and accuracy of internal and external data used in financial and operational analysis.
• Provide technical assistance to team members and help improve the use of systems, data, and analytical tools.
• Identify opportunities to improve forecasting and departmental processes and assist with implementation of new methods.
• Solve complex analytical or technical issues with limited direction and provide clear recommendations to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years of oil and gas forecasting, finance, accounting, or operational data analysis experience preferred, including experience preparing forecasts and analyzing actual-to-forecast variances.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills; experience with Aries, SAP, SQL, Snowflake, or similar financial and data tools is a plus.
