Your role is pivotal in developing software tools that support design, infrastructure, and technology platforms. Your expertise will determine hardware compatibility and influence design, ensuring seamless integration between software and hardware.\n\nIn this role, you\u2019ll make an impact across Lam\u2019s entire product portfolio of equipment working within our centralized software engineering team, collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do\n\n * Implement designs in FPGA solutions for embedded controllers used in semiconductor plasma etchers\n * Responsibilities include collaborating with process, systems, software, electrical, firmware, and mechanical engineers to architect and design the applicable embedded solutions.\n * Must own and drive requirements, design, and implementation of the solution including hardware design, FPGA, FW and appropriate algorithms.\n * Influence the design decisions to partition the architecture across HW/SW, FW and FPGA.\n * Design and develop interface, operation, and control of peripheral devices such as: RTD\u2019s, thermocouples, electric actuators, stepper motors, heaters, pressure sensors, pressure controllers, flow controllers, RF measurement and control systems.\n * Model signal processing path and algorithms in Matlab/Simulink or Python and port them to RTL being executed on the FPGA in the actual HW solutions.\n\n\n\n## Who we\u2019re looking for\n\n * Typical 12+ years of experience in embedded system architecture and design with multiple analog and digital I/O capabilities, FPGA, DSP \u0026 microcontroller-based products.\n * BS or MS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.\n * Proficient in FPGA design and development methodologies using SystemVerilog or VHDL.\n * Must be able to effectively write FPGA and document FPGA design and development.\n * Must have worked with Xilinx Vivado block diagram tool and built designs using AXI busses.\n * In depth understanding of the FPGA design cycle including verification process using UVM and FPGA release.\n\n\n\n## Preferred qualifications\n\n * Skilled in experimental modelling using Matlab and Simulink, prototyping test and measurement using lab equipment, scripting using Python.\n * Should be able to handle multiple tasks including FPGA design cycle.\n * Experience working on Xilinx Zynq based systems and interfacing with an application running on an RTOS at the application layer.\n * Knowledge of digital signal processing: FFT, FIR, IIR.\n * Must be well versed in communications protocols (SPI, I2C, EtherCAT, Ethernet, RS232), analog circuit design and analysis, schematic design.\n * Should have owned designs and embedded solutions used in industrial applications, architected the SDLC processes used in development, and setup test automation infrastructure to enable release management.\n * Should have experience and/or working knowledge of source code management tools like Git and Atlassian tool suite.\n * The position requires excellent soft skills to be part of a cross functional team, excellent written \u0026 oral communication and presentation skills.\n\n\n\n## Our commitment\n\n \n\nWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.
