Senior Insurance Advisor

South Carolina Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a Senior Insurance Advisor to join our team of outstanding professionals in North Charleston, SC.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Grow and maintain book of business in designated area.
• Retain and acquire new insurance clients and referral partners.
• Meets or exceeds individual sales/production goals, including cross-serve opportunities.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of product offerings; offer only those products approved in the state of South Carolina for companies licensed in the state of South Carolina.
• Build and maintain ongoing relationships with clients including scheduling and attending meetings and understanding the nature of clients’ businesses or lives. 
• Actively respond to referrals and explaining types of coverage prospects may find helpful.
• Act as an intermediary between insurance companies and clients. 
• Gather information from clients, assessing their insurance needs and risk profile.
• Renew or amend existing policies for clients as necessary; keep policy renewal retention at required levels.
• Complete and submit applications, issue quotes, maintain client records.
• Assist clients with claims; help clients file and receive financial compensation for their losses in the event of a claim. 
• Provide services to include, but not limited to changing addresses, adding additional insurance, assisting with filing claims, and responding to questions about premium submission and policy coverage. 
• Identify and promote additional business opportunities from other internal business partners to clients. 
• Maintain individual book of business in Agency Management System (AMS) and regularly include notes on every contact.   
• Work with South Carolina Federal sales and service staff to promote insurance services to include, but not limited to, attending Retail Sales leadership and staff meetings to provide education and answer questions related to insurance products.
• Remain knowledgeable about the insurance marketplace in South Carolina, to include the various property and casualty products available in the industry.
• Coordinate activities through SCF Solutions pertaining to product referrals made to the membership by SC Federal employees and internal business partners, as well as from clients when necessary.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Possess a minimum of five years of similar or related insurance sales experience.
• Possess the required dual insurance licenses in South Carolina.
• Possess no history of complaints with the South Carolina Department of Insurance or claims with Errors and Omissions Insurance company.
• Possess a positive standing with insurance companies.
• Possess working knowledge of the various insurance products and services in the industry.
• Possess strong sales and customer service skills.
• Possess the ability to build a book of business for an existing agency.
• Possess demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Possess demonstrated self-motivation skills and the ability to work independently.
• Possess interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Possess time management and organizational skills.
• Possess experience with an agency management system – Ezlyx or other. 
• Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Possess intermediate mathematical skills.
