Senior Low Voltage Estimator

Location: Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN
Schedule: Hybrid – approximately 3 days in office / 2 days remote

Opportunity Overview

Solid Rock Recruiting is representing an established low-voltage security contractor in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market that is looking to add an experienced Senior Low Voltage Estimator to its team.

This is a key estimating opportunity with a company specializing in access control, card readers, video surveillance and related low-voltage security systems. The role will focus primarily on reviewing construction plans and specifications, identifying scope and developing accurate material and labor estimates.

The company is particularly interested in candidates with low-voltage/security estimating experience, but will also consider experienced electrical estimators with some low-voltage exposure who are interested in expanding into the security side of the industry.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans, specifications and bid documents


• Identify applicable divisions and low-voltage/security scope


• Prepare detailed material and labor estimates


• Estimate access control, card reader, camera and related security systems


• Review opportunities through electrical contractors, bid boards, Builders Exchange and other sources


• Develop estimates for primarily new-construction projects


• Support sales with pricing, scope reviews and project changes


• Coordinate with internal teams and customers to clarify scope


• Prepare and maintain accurate estimating documentation


• Assist with proposals and project bids

Qualifications

• Approximately 5–10 years of estimating experience


• Low-voltage/security estimating experience strongly preferred


• Experience with access control, video surveillance, card readers or similar systems is a plus


• Strong electrical estimating experience will be considered, particularly with some low-voltage knowledge


• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications and bid documents


• Strong understanding of construction estimating principles


• Ability to develop accurate material and labor estimates


• Strong attention to detail and organization


• Ability to work independently while collaborating with sales and operations
