We are seeking an exceptional leader and technical strategist for the role of Senior Manager, BI Engineering. In this position, you will act as a player-coach, leading a high-performing team of engineering professionals while driving the next generation of our business intelligence infrastructure. You will bridge the gap between complex data architecture and executive-level strategic direction, serving as a primary catalyst for data proficiency and data governance across the organization.

What You’ll Do

• Strategic Roadmap & AI Innovation: Own the strategic vision and technical roadmap for building and deploying a cutting-edge, AI-enabled analytics solution to automate insights and streamline data discovery.


• Semantic Layer Architecture: Lead the design, implementation, and governance of centralized enterprise semantic layers to ensure unified metrics definitions, data lineage, and seamless self-service BI reporting.


• Data Modeling & BI Infrastructure: Oversee the development of sophisticated data models and architectures using dbt to support efficient data availability, governance, and advanced dashboarding.


• Team Leadership & Coaching: Manage, mentor, and scale a collaborative team of engineering professionals, giving them the autonomy and resources to deliver high-impact business outcomes.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with executive stakeholders, product managers, data scientists, and finance leads to translate evolving business goals into robust technical frameworks.


• Performance Optimization & Pipeline Health: Ensure the operational excellence, reliability, and performance optimization of core data pipelines, warehouses, and reporting tools.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Proven Leadership: Prior experience directly managing, motivating, and retaining high-performing technical teams within the data engineering, analytics, or BI space.


• Advanced Analytics Expertise: Strong hands-on technical background in dbt, SQL, relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), and enterprise data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.


• Semantic & BI Tool Mastery: Demonstrated experience building centralized semantic layers and leveraging enterprise BI platforms (Looker preferred).


• AI & Predictive Capabilities: Familiarity or direct experience incorporating AI tools, natural language processing, or predictive models into BI frameworks to enhance user data interaction.


• Executive Communication: Exceptional aptitude for translating complex data structures into actionable insights and presenting technical trade-offs clearly to internal business partners.


• Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical work experience.

Compensation Range: 

• $160,000 - $195,000

You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance.
