Radia is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Structural Assembly to play a key role in the development of a Part 25 clean-sheet aircraft. Your focus will be to ensure that manufacturability, quality, and efficiency are fully integrated throughout all phases of product development, enabling safe and streamlined operations within the WindRunner Final Assembly Line.

This is an opportunity for an experienced manufacturing engineer who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys solving complex multidisciplinary problems, and can independently drive technical work from concept through execution.

Responsibilities

  • Drive trade studies, design-for-manufacture (DFM) decisions, optimization activities and influence program-level technical strategy and direction.
  • Lead multiple high-impact projects, including those with significant technical risk or cross-team integration complexity.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts involving complex, multi-disciplinary challenges.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of a greenfield production system, including assembly flow, factory layout, and facility planning for aircraft integration.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Act as the manufacturing engineering focal point for structural assembly of metallic and composite parts during product development.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between Radia Product Engineering and Tier-1 suppliers, ensuring alignment on producibility requirements, schedule, cost, quality, and risk to meet program objectives.
  • Ensure seamless integration of supplier parts into final assembly, maintaining clear communication across all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces between structure suppliers and final assembly tooling providers, ensuring readiness of tooling, equipment, and processes.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • BS, MS or PhD in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or production engineering, including 5+ years working with large structural assemblies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and project updates to upper management and large cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a complex, multi-organizational environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Background working with large aircraft OEMs or Tier-1 structural suppliers.
  • Experience supporting both development and production phases in the fabrication of large structural composite components (e.g. fabrication of carbon/epoxy laminates/sandwich structures, etc.).
  • Experience with development and production phases of large structural assemblies of metallic and composite parts and segments in aerospace programs.
  • Working knowledge of CAD and PLM tools, preferably CATIA V5/V6, 3DEXPERIENCE, ENOVIA, and/or DELMIA.

Work Environment

  • This position is anticipated to be based primarily onsite at Radia's facility in Boulder, CO to facilitate close collaboration with engineering teams, program leadership, and certification personnel.
