Senior Marketing Specialist – Vanpool Programs
Under minimal direction, the Senior Marketing Specialist drives growth and expansion of OCTA’s Vanpool Program by developing strategic partnerships and executing innovative marketing initiatives. This role leads outreach efforts with businesses, community organizations, and educational institutions to increase participation and utilization, ensuring program goals are met or exceeded.
This is an exempt position in salary grade 190: Min – $84,531.20 | Mid – $100,984.00 | Max – $117,416.00/year. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.

What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute strategic marketing campaigns, advertising programs, and promotions focused on vanpool growth
- Oversee sales and marketing plans, programs, and special events that generate measurable increases in ridership and utilization
- Research, identify, and cultivate partnerships with employers, community organizations, educational institutions, and stakeholder groups
- Conduct market research and data analysis to identify key origins, destinations, and growth opportunities
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to employers, business leaders, students, and community groups
- Manage campaign creative development, advertising materials, and promotional strategies
- Plan and coordinate vanpool events, including logistics and staffing
- Prepare written reports detailing program performance, outreach activities, and measurable results
- Lead procurement efforts, including writing RFPs and managing marketing consultants and vendor contracts
- Manage project budgets and timelines to ensure compliance and on-time delivery
- Analyze program effectiveness using measurable performance metrics and present findings to management
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
- Minimum of five years of professional marketing experience, including promotion and special events
- Demonstrated success in sales and relationship-building with diverse audiences
- Experience developing sales plans, forecasts, and persuasive presentations
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in transportation services or public-sector marketing (preferred)

Marketing Specialist – Vanpool Programs
Under general supervision, increases vanpool participation and utilization by
developing and maintaining partnerships with businesses, community groups, and
educational institutions to promote, innovative marketing outreach programs.
This is a non-exempt position in salary grade 180: Min – $36.86 | Mid – $44.03 | Max – $51.20/hour. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with businesses, community groups, and educational institutions to grow vanpool participation.
- Design and implement innovative marketing and outreach campaigns to increase program utilization.
- Deliver engaging presentations to executives, employees, community leaders, and students promoting vanpool and transportation programs.
- Identify trends, analyze performance data, and recommend strategies to exceed participation and satisfaction goals.
- Plan and support promotional events, marketing initiatives, and special outreach activities.
- Apply professional sales techniques including planning, forecasting, pitching, closing, and account servicing.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional marketing experience, preferably in transportation services or related industry.
- Demonstrated success in selling products, programs, or concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Experience developing marketing strategies and executing outreach campaigns.
- Ability to build relationships across corporate, community, and educational sectors.
- Experience in transportation services or public-sector marketing (preferred)
