Tiberius is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of mechanical systems for advanced aerospace platforms and mission-critical technologies. This role will focus on designing high-performance mechanical components and structures that meet demanding operational and environmental requirements.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams including systems, avionics, manufacturing, and test engineering to ensure mechanical systems integrate effectively with broader platform architectures. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in mechanical design, materials, structural analysis, and product development in aerospace or advanced hardware environments.
What You'll Do
What You’ll Do
Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and structural systems for aerospace platforms
Create detailed CAD models, technical drawings, and engineering documentation
Perform structural, thermal, and mechanical analyses to validate design performance
Support prototype development, fabrication, and system integration
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful system integration
Conduct design reviews and contribute to engineering decision-making
Identify potential design risks and implement mitigation strategies
Support testing, validation, and iterative design improvements
Technical & Engineering Responsibilities
Develop mechanical architectures for complex aerospace systems
Perform tolerance analysis, structural analysis, and material selection
Design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
Support development of prototypes, test articles, and production-ready designs
Work with manufacturing teams to transition designs into production
Support environmental and reliability testing
Assist in root cause analysis and resolution of mechanical failures
Participate in major engineering design reviews including PDR and CDR
Operational & Engineering Support
Collaborate with systems engineering to translate requirements into mechanical designs
Work with supply chain and manufacturing teams to identify suitable materials and suppliers
Support integration of mechanical systems with avionics, payloads, and other platform components
Contribute to cost optimization and weight reduction initiatives
Support documentation required for compliance, testing, and system certification where applicable
Participate in cross-functional program reviews and engineering planning
Take on additional engineering responsibilities as the company grows
What You'll Bring
What You’ll Bring
6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product development, or aerospace engineering
Strong experience with CAD design tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or similar)
Experience designing complex mechanical systems or structures
Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and structural design principles
Experience with mechanical analysis tools (FEA, thermal analysis, etc.)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment
Preferred
Experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, or advanced hardware development
Experience designing lightweight structures or aerospace components
Familiarity with environmental testing and qualification processes
Experience supporting prototype builds and production transitions
Experience with composite materials or advanced manufacturing methods
Advanced degree in mechanical engineering or related field
