Job Summary
We Are Patterson! Patterson Companies, Inc. is focused on providing the best products, technologies, services and business solutions to the animal and oral health markets. The Sr. PiMS Analyst serves as ACT Data’s primary subject-matter expert for veterinary Practice Information Management Systems (PiMS). This role bridges veterinary clinics, PiMS vendors, and internal product, development, QA, technical support, and training teams. The position requires deep hands-on knowledge of PiMS workflows, clinic operations, and real-world system usage. The analyst will translate clinic workflows, analyze PiMS UI/UX, support integrations, and provide training and knowledge transfer across technical and non-technical audiences.

PiMS Expertise & Knowledge Transfer
Serve as SME for at least one major veterinary PiMS (non-Patterson PiMS) and rapidly learn additional platforms.
Maintain detailed knowledge of PiMS features including but not limited to transactions, invoicing, payment processing, inventory, scheduling, permissions, backups, connectivity, vaccine records, medical histories, reminders, lab workflows, and related processes.
Translate veterinary clinic workflows into structured documentation, requirements, and feedback for internal team.
Clinic & Vendor Communication
Act as liaison between ACT Data, veterinary clinics, PiMS vendors, and industry partners.
Confidently discuss PiMS functionality from both user and technical perspectives.
Leverage clinic-side experience to anticipate challenges and guide solutions.
Product & Integration Support
Work closely with internal teams including Development, QA, Technical Support, and Project Management to:
Analyze PiMS UI/UX workflows
Identify gaps, friction points, and integration challenges
Support design and implementation of PiMS-to-application integrations
Provide fast, practical problem-solving in a dynamic environment where priorities and direction may change quickly.
PiMS Version Management & Documentation
Track and maintain awareness of supported PiMS software versions.
Monitor PiMS release updates and document significant version changes, enhancements, and breaking changes.
Communicate PiMS version impacts clearly to internal stakeholders and project teams.
Training & Demonstrations
Develop PiMS demonstrations, walkthroughs, and instructional materials using screen capture tools.
Support internal education and enablement efforts related to PiMS workflows and integrations.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a veterinary clinic environment.
Minimum of 5 years direct experience acting as the clinic’s primary PiMS contact, including communication with PiMS technical support.
Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, QA, or technical teams
Familiarity with PiMS integrations, third-party applications, or payment processing workflows.
Prior experience supporting or training users on PiMS systems.
Fluency in at least one veterinary PiMS, with demonstrated ability to learn additional systems.
Strong understanding of veterinary clinic workflows and PiMS feature sets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both phone and in-person.
Fast thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with multiple PiMS platforms
Prior work supporting PiMS integrations with third-party systems (payments, labs, analytics, etc.)
Experience creating formal training materials or SOPs
Prior collaboration with product, engineering, or QA teams
Demonstrated ability to influence clinic stakeholders, vendors and internal teams to adopt improved workflows or solutions.
Previous experience as a lead or managing others

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills.
