The Role

The Senior Production Analyst/Accountant will support the Production Accounting function with responsibility for operated production, volumetric reporting, reconciliations, and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and the ability to work effectively with both accounting and operational stakeholders.

  • Manage production accounting activities including master data set-up and analysis, volume allocations, reconciliations, and reporting for operated production.
  • Perform monthly reviews, adjustments, and validation of production allocations to ensure accurate and timely results.
  • Analyze production data, investigate discrepancies, and process retroactive amendments as necessary to maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare and report volumetric production data while supporting applicable regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  • Respond to internal and external audit inquiries and provide accurate documentation and supporting information.
  • Partner with Operations, Field personnel, regulatory entities, and other stakeholders to respond to data requests and resolve production accounting issues.
  • Maintain and follow established control procedures while recommending enhancements that strengthen accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reconciliations, and increase the overall efficiency of the Production Accounting function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within production accounting, revenue accounting, or a related oil and gas function.
  • Strong understanding of production accounting concepts, including allocations, reconciliations, volumetric reporting, variance analysis, controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to investigate issues, interpret data, support audits, and identify process improvements.
