Job Description - Senior Project Estimator


Senior Project Estimator

 

BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting a
Full -time, Direct Hire Senior Project Estimator position based out of our
client’s office in Pembroke, FL. Our client, with a strong project portfolio in
Florida, the Caribbean, and beyond, is renowned for their innovative approach
to construction challenges, emphasizing quality and efficiency. As a Project
Estimation and Coordination Specialist, your expertise will significantly
impact the planning, estimation, and execution phases of our client's projects.
Your role is critical in ensuring the delivery of competitive bids and the
successful coordination of project scopes, fostering strong client
relationships and project outcomes.

 


Responsibilities

 

  • Estimation and Bidding: Lead the development of
    precise project estimates, including material, labor, and subcontractor costs.
    Engage with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and ensure
    estimate accuracy.

  • Creates timely and accurate estimates for
    prospective bids including obtaining inputs from vendors, subcontractors and
    field personnel as needed.

  • Responsible for accuracy of bidding/estimation
    program including maintaining up to date material pricing & labor
    standards.

  • Meet with prospective customers to gain insight
    into bid requirements, gathering of information regarding customer desires,
    scope, expected budget, potential snags and other bidders.

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for
    new bids, performing measurements, takeoffs, calculating material and labor
    costs, production rates, etc.

  • Submit bids in line with submission requirement
    and schedules.

  • Upon award, verify project scope and assemble
    official contract, drawings and specification documents.

  • Coordinate with design engineers, customers and
    project manager, superintendent, or foreman to resolve contract, specification
    and job questions.

  • Establish a detailed plan for each job in
    accordance with the estimate, contract requirements and prints to ensure a
    clear project budget, job work plan and schedule.

  • Perform pre -job briefings and participate in
    reviews with the production manager to assist in job planning and scheduling as
    well as input regarding tentative personnel assignments.

  • From time -to -time assist/prepare purchase orders
    for purchases and other required information for project.

  • Participate in customer or site project
    meetings, as required for scope or change order related items.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in
    project estimation, coordination, and management within the construction,
    engineering, or related industry, with a strong emphasis on budgeting,
    scheduling, and client engagement.

  • Proficiency in project estimation and bidding
    processes.

  • Experience with vendor and subcontractor
    negotiations for competitive pricing.

  • Knowledge of current material pricing and labor
    standards.

  • Ability to interact with prospective customers
    to understand and document project requirements and budgets.

  • Skilled in preparing detailed project cost
    estimates, including measurements and takeoffs.

  • Competency in submitting compliant and timely
    bids.

  • Experience in contract documentation and project
    scope verification post -award.

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with design
    engineers, project managers, and site personnel.

  • Strong project planning skills, including
    budgeting and scheduling.

  • Experience in pre -job briefings and planning
    reviews.

  • Willingness to assist with purchase orders and
    project documentation as needed.

  • Capable of participating in project meetings,
    including discussions on scope changes or adjustments.

 

Job Type: Full -time Permanent Position

 

Work Authorization/Clearance

 

·         US Citizen: capable of obtaining necessary
clearances as required for specific projects.

 

Schedule

 

·         Monday to Friday, with flexibility as project
demands. Limited travel to client sites.

 

Work Location

 

·         On -site at Pembroke, FL office.
