About this role:  

Matters Graph is seeking experienced strategy consulting professionals with demonstrated workstream leadership and project management experience.  We are looking for individuals who value substance over scale and thrive in a collaborative, high-trust, and intellectually rigorous environment. At Matters Graph, you will have direct exposure to clients, and executive leadership, and play a key role in operational and firm-building initiatives.   

Our Senior Manager and Principal levels play a critical role in leading client engagements from inception through delivery, cultivating client relationships, and leading new business development initiatives.
You will be responsible for managing project teams, ensuring the quality and rigor of final outputs, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients. You will work closely with Partners and Senior Leadership to shape engagement strategy, drive successful outcomes, and contribute to firm building initiatives. 

In addition, you will serve as a leader, coach, and mentor to early career consultants, helping to develop the next generation of talent while continuing to expand your own leadership, client management, and business development capabilities. 

At Matters Graph, you will:  

• Lead multiple client engagements from inception through delivery, ensuring exceptional quality, actionable insights, and evidence-based recommendations 

• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, building long-term relationships and identifying opportunities to deepen partnerships 

• Drive business development by cultivating new client relationships, contributing to proposal development, and generating new opportunities aligned with the firm's growth strategy 

• Provide strategic oversight across project teams, ensuring rigorous problem solving, high-quality analysis, and impactful client deliverables 

• Translate complex client challenges into structured hypotheses, analytical frameworks, and actionable recommendations 

• Guide investigative research efforts, ensuring comprehensive data collection and the highest standards of analytical rigor 

• Collaborate with Partners, colleagues, and external subject matter experts to develop innovative commercial diligence and value generation strategies 

• Coach, mentor, and develop consultants and project managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, high performance, and professional growth 

• Contribute to the development of the firm's intellectual capital, methodologies, and sector expertise while helping shape the future direction of the practice 

• Champion Matters Graph's culture and values by leading with integrity, collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to excellence 

What We're Looking For: 

• 7+ years of experience within a leading strategy consulting firm, boutique consultancy, private equity fund, or similar advisory environment 

• Demonstrated success leading complex commercial diligence and growth strategy, or value creation engagements for private equity and corporate clients. 

• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent engagements while leading and developing high-performing consulting teams. 

• Exceptional client management skills, with a track record of building trusted advisor relationships, leading executive-level discussions, and delivering impactful recommendations. 

• Experience supporting business development through proposal development, client relationship management, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to revenue growth. 

• Strong commercial acumen, outstanding intellectual curiosity, and exceptional qualitative and quantitative analytical skills. 

• Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing consultants while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. 

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for helping build and grow a rapidly expanding consulting firm. 

• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with executive audiences. 

What we offer:  

Senior Managers and Principals earn a competitive base salary and are eligible for performance-based discretionary bonuses tied to both individual and firm performance.  The base salary for these positions ranges from $242,000 to $270,000 per year. 

Eligible team members may also participate in profit-sharing and equity programs, providing the opportunity to share in the firm's long-term success.
