Job Description

We are seeking Senior Backend Engineers with strong expertise in Python, API development, and AWS cloud-native technologies to design, build, and operate scalable backend services.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with microservices, serverless applications, event-driven architectures, and containerized workloads on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design cloud-native backend architectures using microservices, serverless, and event-driven patterns.
  

• Build Python backend services and REST APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
  

• Implement API validation, security, error handling, performance, and integration patterns.
  

• Develop serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, and Step Functions.
  

• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker, ECS/Fargate, and/or EKS/Kubernetes.
  

• Implement asynchronous processing using SQS, SNS, and EventBridge.
  

• Design data persistence using RDS/Aurora and DynamoDB.
  

• Implement caching using ElastiCache/Redis.
  

• Provision infrastructure using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
  

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing.
  

• Implement monitoring and observability using CloudWatch, X-Ray, OpenTelemetry, or comparable tools.
  

• Apply AWS security practices across IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, VPC, and networking.
  

• Design highly available, scalable, and disaster-resilient solutions.
  

• Troubleshoot production issues and apply SRE/reliability practices.
  

• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering best practices.
  

• Provide technical leadership and communicate engineering decisions to stakeholders.
  

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software/backend engineering experience.
  

• Strong hands-on Python development experience.
  

• Experience designing REST APIs and microservices.
  

• Strong AWS experience with several of the following:
  

  • Lambda
    

  • API Gateway
    

  • ECS/Fargate
    

  • EKS/Kubernetes
    

  • S3
    

  • EventBridge
    

  • SQS/SNS
    

  • RDS/Aurora
    

  • DynamoDB
    

  • ElastiCache/Redis
    

• Docker and containerized application deployment.
  

• Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
  

• CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.
  

• AWS IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, VPC, and cloud security.
  

• Application monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
  

• Automated testing and software quality practices.
  

• Git, code reviews, Agile development, and production support.
  

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• FastAPI or Flask.
  

• Production Kubernetes/EKS experience.
  

• AWS Step Functions.
  

• Kafka/MSK or Kinesis.
  

• OpenTelemetry or AWS X-Ray.
  

• SRE principles, including SLIs, SLOs, incident management, and reliability engineering.
  

• Cloud cost optimization / FinOps.
  

• High-availability and disaster-recovery architecture.
  

• Technical leadership or mentoring experience.
