Job Description - Senior Quality Engineering Manager

Eaton\u2019s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineering Manager. \n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe Senior Quality Engineering Manager will be responsible for implementing Eaton\u2019s Zero Defect Process (E\u2011ZDP) and overseeing the internal audit program. Designed to eliminate errors through proactive prevention, the E\u2011ZDP framework will be applied across new product development as well as existing, legacy programs under this role\u2019s guidance. \n \n\u2022 Manage, coach, mentor the Quality Development Engineering, Auditing, and Material Review Board teams. \n\u2022 Manage the Eaton Zero Defect Process (E-ZDP) program. \n\u2022 Lead quality deployment for new products, processes, and services through PROLaunch, ensuring readiness, risk mitigation, and compliance prior to launch. \n\u2022 Drive strategic quality initiatives focused on continuous improvement, preventive quality, and risk based thinking across products, processes, and services, including PFMEA/DFMEA oversight and error proofing at the source. \n\u2022 Direct internal, customer, and third party audit activities, ensuring timely closure and effectiveness of corrective actions and organizational compliance. \n\u2022 Lead and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives, including 8D problem solving, Kaizen events, Six Sigma projects, and other structured methodologies.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Requirements:\n\n * Minimum of a Bachelors Degree from an accredidted institution.\n * Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience.\n * Minimum of 3 years of management, supervision, or team leadership experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or a related field. \n * Relocation is not provided. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now an in the future.\n * This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a\n * U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., \u0027Green Card Holder\u0027), Political Asylee, or Refugee.\n * Relocation is not provided. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Eaton\u0027s Orchard Park, Ny facility. \n\n\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Six Sigma Black Belt Certified \n\u2022 AS9100 Lead Auditor Training \n\u2022 ASQ Certified Quality Engineer \n\u2022 Experience in problem solving techniques (eg. 5 Why, 8D, A3). \n\u2022 Understanding of GD\u0026T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). \n\u2022 Knowledge of Quality Control systems and techniques, such as AS9100, ISO 9001, including statistical quality control and inspection and investigation techniques. \n\u2022 Experienced in use of continuous improvement lean manufacturing principles and scrap reduction tools (5S+, Value Stream Mapping, PDCA, Standard Work, and Poka-Yoke). \n\u2022 Experienced in use of AIAG quality tools to reduce variability and mitigate risk (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC). \n\u2022 Experience working with FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) standards\n\n## Skills:\n\n \n\u2022 Ability to interface at all levels. \n\u2022 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. \n\u2022 Good time-management skills. \n\u2022 High level of computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). \n\u2022 Administrative skills required to guide product quality, employee involvement, and productivity programs. \n\u2022 Highly developed human relations, communications, and internal consulting skills necessary to establish and maintain effective work relationships with the various plant functions, customer and supplier personnel.\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
