POSITION SUMMARY:

This Technician position is full-time with responsibilities for maintaining and operating all Pilot Plant process area equipment in coordination with the Engineers/Chemists assigned to this area. Additional responsibility may include assisting other labs as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow applicable safety procedures.

  • Operate and maintain all Pilot Plant units and analytical instruments used to support the daily operation of the process area.

  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on equipment, including catalyst loading/unloading, bending/installing piping, pump rebuilds, and valve/gauge calibration/installation.

  • Perform tasks with strict adherence to standard operating procedures, generating consistent, highly accurate, timely, and defensible results. Capable of training new employees how to safely operate equipment and lab instruments.

  • Forklift operation. Training and certification will be provided.

  • Have a basic understanding of refinery processes and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Communicate effectively with others.

  • Adhere to established quality control protocols including running instrument SQC samples and interpreting SQC data to ensure instruments are in control.

  • Maintain good housekeeping.

  • Demonstrate ethics and integrity in all aspects of the job.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Weekend coverage and shiftwork possible depending on project priority.

  • Overtime is limited but can reach up to 20%.

  • Minimal travel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

  • Associate's Degree in process technology or Bachelor's Degree with 16 hours of college chemistry is preferred.

  • Four (4) years or more of relevant work experience is required.

  • Pilot Plant and/or Process Unit experience is preferred.

  • An Analytical Chemistry course and familiarity with Honeywell operating systems is preferred.

  • The ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is also required.
