Job Summary

The Production Director is responsible for leading all fulfillment and production at SmartRoof, including installation, service, supply chain, and product management. This leadership role ensures that SmartRoof's operational backbone is built for quality, scalability, and profitability across roofing, solar, and home improvement services.

As the owner of SmartRoof's product and service catalog, the Director ensures all offerings are operationally viable, cost-effective, and deliverable at scale. The Director partners closely with Sales and Finance to align supply-side readiness with demand, while maintaining cost control, delivery standards, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Install & Service Operations

• Lead all installation and service delivery across SmartRoof's operating markets
• Manage job scheduling, backlog, field team performance, and service-level timelines
• Ensure high-quality execution, safety, and customer experience across all jobs
• Own capacity planning and install forecasting in coordination with sales leadership

Supply Chain, Procurement & Logistics

• Manage sourcing, purchasing, inventory, and warehousing across product lines
• Oversee vendor relationships, subcontractor qualification, and pricing negotiations
• Optimize job staging, material delivery, and fulfillment efficiency to control costs and reduce delays

Product Ownership & Pricing Collaboration

• Own the definition and management of SmartRoof's product and service catalog (e.g., roofing systems, solar configurations, bundled offerings)
• Establish operational standards for each product to ensure consistency and install feasibility
• Provide directional input on pricing strategy to Finance and Revenue teams based on cost structure, feasibility, and install complexity

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Sales to align install timelines with pipeline and close rates
• Partner with Sales and Marketing to ensure seamless post-sale handoffs
• Collaborate with Technology and Finance to ensure clean job costing, install data, and reporting integrity

Fulfillment Systems & Process Optimization

• Build and continuously improve production workflows, technology integrations, and install tracking systems
• Implement process documentation, SOPs, and KPI dashboards for all fulfillment functions
• Drive continuous improvement in cost per job, install velocity, and customer experience
• Ensure alignment of AR activities with install completion and contract terms

Quality, Risk & Compliance

• Establish QA/QC protocols and manage job inspections, punch list resolution, and service claims
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, permit requirements, and subcontractor licensing
• Promote a strong safety culture across all field operations

• Install velocity and backlog reduction
• Job cost and margin performance
• Material accuracy and inventory utilization
• Service completion time and post-install issue rates
• AR aging and collections effectiveness
• Production team engagement and scalability across markets

Experience & Qualifications:

• 8+ years of leadership in construction, roofing, solar, or home services operations
• Proven ability to scale install/service operations in a multi-market environment
• Deep expertise in field operations, product rollout, subcontractor management, and cost control
• Familiarity with job costing systems, field tech tools, and Salesforce experience
• Strong vendor management, process optimization, and cross-functional leadership skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Base: $135,000 - $170,000
