Senior SQL Database Administrator*

Location: Fort Belvoir

Required Clearance: TS/SCI clearance with SBI and ability to attain SI, TK, G, HCS, and NATO Secret clearance

Certifications: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MSCA) or SQL Server 2016 or SQL Database Administration Certification, and DoD 8140.03 IAT Level II/Intermediate certification

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field

Required Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience

Description

PingWind is seeking a Senior SQL Database Administrator who is responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of the organization’s SQL databases. This role involves planning and development of the database as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users. The Senior SQL Database Administrator ensures that data remains consistent across the database, data is clearly defined, users access data concurrently in a form that suits their needs, and there is provision for data security and recovery control.

Responsibilities

Typical Responsibilities/Tasks:

· Eight years of experience in SQL database administration supporting and managing databases in a production environment

· Five years of experience installing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft SQL Server in High Availability Group configurations

· Five years of experience with T-SQL and ability to write scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and views to automate maintenance functions.

· Three years of experience serving as a team leader working as both part of a team and independently to assign/review immediate tasks, set priorities, maintain task progress, validate team members work consistent with the organizational goals and deadlines.

· Three years of experience mentoring junior personnel on proper practices and procedures.

· Three years of experience planning and implementing security measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure in accordance with industry best practices and DISA STIGs.
