Job Description - Senior Systems Engineer

Modern Technology Solutions Incorporated (MTSI), is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer. As a Systems Engineer you will be responsible for providing program, systems engineering, and acquisition support to the government team lead.

Responsibilities:

Provide engineering support for program management execution of an advanced USN platform program focused on tactical fusion of multi-domain data.
Work with program teams to develop program objectives, integrated roadmaps, detailed schedules, and program budgets.
Support the development of technical documentation including, but not limited to, statements of work and specifications, leadership briefs, CONOPS, test plans, and specific engineering briefs related to the subject matter.
Analyze manufacturers’ proposals as permitted by law and regulation.
Facilitate and provide engineering support throughout the design, integration, and test and execution processes.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

Providing program, systems engineering, and acquisition support to the government team lead.
Collect, complete, organize and interpret technical data relating to weapons system acquisition projects.
Engage with programs to assess performance-to-plan and technical risks
Track program/project status and schedules
Perform analysis of project status and generate high-quality technical reports and presentations
Communicating with Government team counterparts

Required Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or a related technical discipline.
At least 10 years of systems engineering experience, including 5 years supporting sensor integration, intelligence data systems, or Navy command-and-control capabilities.
Clearance Requirements: TOP SECRET clearance with eligibility for SCI.

Desired Experience:

Demonstrated understanding of maritime intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; maritime domain awareness; and how sensor information supports Navy operational workflows.
Experience integrating multiple government or commercial data sources into operational systems—for example, radar/SAR, electro-optical/infrared, signals intelligence, and Automatic Identification System (AIS) feeds.
Experience translating operational needs into measurable system and interface requirements, maintaining requirements traceability, and defining verification and acceptance criteria.
Demonstrated ability to develop and review system architectures, data-flow diagrams, interface control documents, data models, message schemas, and application programming interfaces.
Experience planning and executing interface and system integration tests, analyzing discrepancies, tracing failures across system boundaries, and documenting readiness for operational use.

The pay range for this position is $160,00/year to $180,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
