  • Review tax returns, financial information, ownership structures, and planning projections to identify tax-saving opportunities and potential planning concerns.

  • Research tax legislation, regulations, emerging planning concepts, and technical issues to uncover opportunities and support sound client recommendations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience advising high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational families, business owners, and executives on sophisticated tax and wealth-planning matters.

  • Strong technical knowledge across individual, trust, estate, gift, and business taxation, including complex ownership structures and planning scenarios.

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate tax and wealth-planning opportunities through both a technical and practical lens, balancing tax benefits with real-world client and business objectives.

  • Excellent research, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with a natural curiosity for complex tax and wealth-planning issues.

  • Ability to communicate nuanced tax and financial concepts in a straightforward, client-friendly manner.

  • Confident in asking thoughtful questions, challenging assumptions, and identifying planning risks before they become issues.

  • Collaborative approach when working alongside attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, investment professionals, and other professionals involved in a client's planning process.

  • Strong professional judgment coupled with a commitment to accuracy, discretion, confidentiality, and exceptional client service.

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a desire to stay current on evolving tax laws, wealth-planning strategies, and industry developments.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline required.

  • CPA designation strongly preferred; advanced tax credentials such as a JD or LL.M. in Taxation are also valued.

  • 5+ years of experience in tax planning, tax advisory, private client services, wealth planning, or a related field.

  • Background working with high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational families, trusts, estates, closely held businesses, and complex wealth-planning situations is highly desirable.

  • Experience supporting clients through business sales, succession planning, recapitalizations, liquidity events, estate planning, or other significant wealth-transfer events is a plus.

  • Prior tax compliance experience is beneficial; however, this position is focused primarily on advisory work, planning, strategy, and client consultation rather than high-volume return preparation.
