This position is in our Strategic Deterrent Systems Division to execute the Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase of the Sentinel Program.\n\nThe primary objective of this role is to collaborate across Systems Engineering, System Test, Global Supply Chain, suppliers, and other Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to develop and review Environmental Control System hardware requirements, specifications, designs, trade studies, and analyses for the purpose of supporting incremental system maturity milestones and hardware deliveries. The successful candidate will be comfortable with working in a dynamic people-focused environment and collaborating across multiple internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve organizational goals.\n\nWhat You Will Get to Do:\n\n * Collaborate with stakeholders to decompose technical requirements, develop complete and verifiable requirements, and conduct trade studies\n\n * Generate and update specifications as part of a Systems Engineering framework for the purpose of releasing to suppliers and supporting the procurement process\n\n * Develop design and analysis artifacts to support design reviews, customer deliverables, and hardware procurement workflows\n\n * Perform heating and cooling calculations to size HVAC equipment\n\n * Select appropriate HVAC equipment to meet size and system requirements\n\n * Review and provide comments to supplier-submitted drawings and contractual deliveries\n\n\n\n\nThis standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.\n\nThis requisition may be filled as a Principal Mechanical Engineer (level 3) or Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer (level 4) depending on experience and qualifications.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Principal Mechanical Engineer: Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field with 5 years of experience; or Master\u0027s degree with 3 years of experience\n * Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer: Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field with 8 years of experience; or Master\u0027s degree with 6 years of experience\n * U.S. citizen\n * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance\n * Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Programs (SAP) clearance\n * Experience with Environmental Control Systems (ECS) and Heating, Ventilation, and Air conditioning (HVAC) system design and verification\n * Must be proficient with Microsoft Office tools - PowerPoint, Excel, Word\n * Ability to understand and interpret requirements\n * Must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction\n\n\n\n# \n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience with Carrier HAP, NX, Autodesk Revit, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software\n * Familiarity with Systems Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes\n * Professional Engineer (PE) license\n * Experience with estimation, bidding, proposals, or RFPs\n * Experience with PDP (Product Definition Packages) creation\n * Working knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and plant controls\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
