Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Transportation Manager, supervise and manage all activities relating to the Transportation Departments (Valet, Keybooth, Transit, and Entertainment Chauffeur) for all shifts. Provide departments with leadership whereby they achieve results in accordance with the objectives, performance and quality standards established by the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that Hotel & Casio Valet, Key Booth, Transit, and Entertainment Chauffeur provide guests with a world class experience and meet Soaring Eagle Casino & Resorts standards.
Work with the marketing department and the entertainment managers to coordinate transportation to and from all airports in Michigan for all groups performing at the SECR.
Schedule and dispatch all Entertainment Chauffeurs to provide safe and professional transportation.
Manage the fleet of vehicles in the Transportation department which includes Shuttle Busses, SUV’s, Vans and Passenger Golf Carts including repairs and maintenance work orders, tracking mileage.
Ensure federal and state DOT regulations are followed.
Must be able to perform vehicle unlocks using the proper tools and training. Must collect and process payment.
Investigate all Guest Claims of damage, theft and service failures. Must be able to use surveillance camera software and complete required reports to prevent false claims. Review all information to determine fault and send all required documentation to Risk Management, Transportation Manager and the Director.
Knowledge of general vehicle maintenance and shuttle bus operations. Must be able to communicate with Vehicle maintenance issues with the fleet vehicles and maintain all work orders. Track all oil changes etc.
Must attend meetings and training classes as required.
Ensure the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resorts’ emergency procedures are understood and followed by the Supervisor and team members to ensure guest safety.
Handle guest complaints quickly, informing the necessary department heads when appropriate.
Enforce Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort Service Drivers to include the strategic vision, core values, and key service drivers.
Maintain hiring, staffing, training, supervision, grooming and conduct standards are achieved according to department goals; terminate when necessary.
Ensure all proper paperwork and all records are maintained as directed by Human Resources.
Ensure all team members are properly orientated and trained in all aspects of their position; when necessary, take appropriate counseling, retraining or disciplinary action to ensure that all standards are being met.
Provide guidance to all team members in their professional development so they are prepared for advancement opportunities.
Lead by personal example the philosophy of work conduct and personal development that lead to maximum satisfaction and performance.
Maintain a high level of morale in department; induce pride in team members for working with this organization.
Create an atmosphere of cooperation; use sound judgment and fairness in decisions relating to team members.
Keep all team members well informed on events, procedures as it relates to their position and shift.
Ensure the maximum safety of guest, patron and employees in cases of emergency.
When necessary, take appropriate counseling, retraining or disciplinary action to ensure that all standards are being met.
Show appreciation when employees meet or exceed department standards.
Coordinate with Transportation Manager, Director and HR on any disciplinary action.
Handle staff grievances in a manner resulting in the desired outcomes.
Prepare weekly Supervisor and associate schedules.
Each shift if a supervisor is unavailable accompany a valet to retrieve all valet tips made from the day before. Follow all security guidelines and count and deposit the valet tips. Complete all accounting documentation as required.
Assist Transportation Manager with weekly payroll to include timecard adjustments, scheduling adjustments, gratuity submissions, and proper transfer of wages as necessary.
Track all attendance related occurrences for accuracy and ensures all occurrences and removals are issued in a timely manner.
Track and log valet tip rate.
Maintain effective communication between department and the Transportation Manager.
Ensure that the departments within the scope of responsibility adhere to all Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort’s Policies and Procedures.
Remain aware of: previous day and night’s activity; arrival and departure situation as it relates to guests in all areas; changes in forecast for the demands of the week; the Transportation log book; and hotel and casino VIP Arrivals.
Provides management with reports of all incidents and take action to avoid repetition of any incidents, accidents, thefts or complications.
Assist Transportation Manager in maintaining par on departmental tools (i.e. valet tickets, etc.).
Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:
Contact with Transportation team members on all shifts to provide them with day to day instruction, leadership and training in-order to provide the high standards of service expected at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort.
Contact with casino and hotel department managers to communicate guest needs and insure excellent service is provided.
Contact with guests when handling their needs and complaints in an efficient manner.
Contact with Entertainment coordinators and Entertainment group manager to logistically coordinate all inbound and outbound transportation needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Three years of Transportation experience.
Two years in a supervisory capacity.
An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
Must be able to work all three shifts as required.
Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
Must be proficient in Microsoft office Excel, Word and Outlook.
Desired Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in a Hospitality or a related field.
License, Certification, or Special Requirements:
Must have a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License, with the proper designation required for the vehicle utilized to perform the job duties, and qualify for coverage by SCIT auto liability insurance carrier. A Tribal Driver’s License will also be required if a Motor Pool Vehicle is used in the course and scope of the required job duties.
Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the hotel and gaming division, its governing structure, and documents.
Knowledge and ability to efficiently and effectively develop, manage and monitor program budgets.
Knowledge in human resources management policies and procedures.
Knowledge of general vehicle maintenance and operation.
Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Skill in preparing, reviewing and analyzing operational letters and financial reports.
Skill in supervising, training and evaluating assigned team members.
Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.
Ability to operate cars of all types.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with the individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
Physical Demands:
Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with vehicle operation.
Sit, stoop, kneel or crouch while performing duties.
Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; Use arms to reach and lift above shoulders.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Must have normal auditory and good verbal communication.
Occasionally lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment:
Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino and constant machine and crowd noise.
Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of weather conditions including extreme hot/cold and to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of tools, equipment and materials.
Extended hours or irregular shifts may be required including weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work “on call”.
Must be able to open and close the valet service daily.
