POSITION SUMMARY
The Server delivers exceptional food and beverage service while creating memorable dining and event experiences for Members and Guests. This full-time seasonal position serves as a primary ambassador of Hideaway Golf Club's hospitality culture by providing personalized, attentive, and professional service. Servers support restaurant operations and Club functions, banquets, Member events, tournaments, and special events, including event setup, food and beverage service, and breakdown, as operational needs require. Servers are expected to provide service that is warm and welcoming while maintaining the professionalism, attentiveness, and refined service standards associated with a premier private club environment. The Server anticipates Member needs, develops positive relationships, demonstrates detailed knowledge of food and beverage offerings, and consistently upholds the high standards of hospitality, professionalism, and service excellence that define the Hideaway experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide exceptional hospitality, service, and communication to Members and Guests at all times.
· Develop knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, daily specials, and beverage offerings.
· Confidently make food and beverage recommendations based on Member preferences, dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests.
· Demonstrate knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages, including appropriate food and beverage pairings.
· Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently while providing personalized service.
· Serve food and beverages utilizing proper service standards and techniques.
· Carry food and beverage trays safely and professionally.
· Anticipate Member needs and respond promptly to requests.
· Monitor dining areas continuously to ensure exceptional service throughout the dining experience.
· Enter all transactions accurately into the POS system and properly process Member charges according to Club policies and procedures.
· Review daily reservations, event orders, and function sheets before each shift.
· Complete assigned opening, side work, and closing duties.
· Maintain service stations, dining areas, and workspaces in a clean, organized, and sanitary condition.
· Follow all food safety and sanitation requirements in accordance with Riverside County Food Handler standards.
· Support a safe working environment and immediately report unsafe conditions.
· Report to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, and prepared to perform assigned duties.
· Follow all Club policies, procedures, and service standards.
· Communicate effectively with management and fellow Team Members to ensure exceptional Member experiences.
· Greet Members promptly and professionally, utilizing Member names whenever possible.
· Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency while maintaining composure and professionalism.
· Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Banquet & Special Event Support
· Support the Banquet and Events Team in the execution of Club functions, Member events, private parties, tournaments, holiday events, and other special events as assigned.
· Assist with event setup and breakdown, including tables, chairs, linens, place settings, glassware, silverware, service stations, beverage stations, and other event-related equipment and supplies.
· Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), function sheets, menus, event timelines, table assignments, dietary accommodations, and service instructions as directed to understand event requirements and assigned responsibilities.
· Provide professional food and beverage service during banquet functions and special events in accordance with established Club service standards and event specifications.
· Become familiar with event menus, beverage selections, service style, table assignments, special requests, allergies, and dietary accommodations prior to service.
· Execute plated, buffet, reception, passed hors d'oeuvres, beverage, and other event service as assigned while maintaining proper service techniques and presentation standards.
· Anticipate Member and Guest needs throughout events, promptly responding to requests and communicating service needs or concerns to appropriate Team Members or leadership.
· Work collaboratively with Banquet, Culinary, Bartenders, Bussers, Runners, and other Food & Beverage Team Members to maintain proper service timing and ensure seamless event execution.
· Assist with clearing, resetting, and maintaining tables and service areas throughout events to ensure event spaces remain clean, organized, and presentation-ready.
· Assist with post-event breakdown, including clearing tables and service areas, collecting and organizing serviceware and linens, returning equipment and supplies to designated areas, and preparing event spaces for subsequent Club activities.
· Remain flexible in assigned duties and service areas based on operational and event needs, including providing support outside of regularly assigned restaurant or dining areas.

WINE & BEVERAGE KNOWLEDGE EXPECTATIONS
· Maintain a working knowledge of the Club's wine, beer, spirits, cocktail, and non-alcoholic beverage offerings.
· Develop familiarity with wine varietals, regions, tasting profiles, and food pairing recommendations.
· Demonstrate knowledge of current beverage menus, featured wines, seasonal cocktails, and specialty offerings.
· Confidently answer Member questions regarding beverage selections and make appropriate recommendations based on individual preferences.
· Understand and follow proper wine service procedures, including presentation, opening, pouring, and handling of wine bottles.
· Demonstrate knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and comply with all applicable laws and Club policies regarding alcohol service.
· Participate in beverage education, wine tastings, training sessions, and product knowledge programs as assigned.
· Continuously expand beverage knowledge to support Hideaway Golf Club's commitment to providing a premier private club dining experience.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant, private club, luxury hospitality, resort, or fine dining environment preferred.
• Current Riverside County Food Handler Card.
• General competency with point-of-sale systems; Jonas experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of food, wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to make recommendations and answer Member questions regarding menu items and beverage offerings.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with Members, Guests, and Team Members.
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Standing and walking continuously throughout the shift while providing food and beverage service to Members and Guests.
• Carrying trays, plates, glassware, beverage containers, service equipment, and supplies throughout dining rooms, patios, banquet spaces, and other Club facilities.
• Reaching, bending, stooping, and kneeling to set and clear tables, retrieve supplies, stock service stations, and assist Members.
• Using hands and fingers continuously to handle trays, glassware, silverware, point-of-sale equipment, menus, food items, and beverage service tools.
• Communicating with Members, Guests, culinary staff, and fellow Team Members to coordinate service, respond to requests, and ensure Member satisfaction.
• Reading menus, point-of-sale screens, reservation information, event orders, and other operational documents requiring close and distance vision.
• Identifying food items, beverages, table numbers, service areas, and potential safety hazards requiring depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling food trays, beverage trays, bus tubs, tables, chairs, and service equipment weighing up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Working indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, wind, and other weather conditions associated with Club operations and special events.
• Maintaining awareness of dining room activity, Member needs, and service flow while performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional club environment. This role operates with standard food and beverage serving equipment, glass, silver, and dinnerware. Service areas to include, but not limited to, restaurants, Clubhouse exterior grounds, private party locations, and other places.
