Position Summary
The Server at Maréla is a curator of the guest experience—responsible for delivering thoughtful, intuitive, and highly personalized service that reflects the elegance and warmth of coastal European dining. This role requires a deep understanding of the menu, wine program, and service standards, combined with the ability to anticipate guest needs and create memorable dining moments.
Servers are expected to embody Maréla’s philosophy of refined simplicity, ensuring each guest interaction is polished, genuine, and effortlessly executed.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Deliver elevated, anticipatory service in alignment with luxury hospitality standards
- Guide guests through the menu with confidence, including seafood selections, seasonal ingredients, and preparation styles
- Provide informed wine recommendations, including pairings aligned with Mediterranean and Southern European profiles
- Maintain a warm, engaging, and professional presence throughout the guest journey
- Anticipate guest needs and personalize the dining experience
Menu & Product Knowledge
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all food and beverage offerings, including daily features and seasonal changes
- Communicate menu details clearly, including ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods
- Stay current on wine list updates, varietals, and pairing philosophy
Operational Excellence
- Execute proper service sequences including greeting, order taking, coursing, and table maintenance
- Ensure accuracy in order entry and delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned stations and service areas
- Collaborate seamlessly with culinary and support teams to ensure timely and accurate service
Standards & Compliance
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Maintain compliance with alcohol service laws and responsible service practices
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and service standards
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of serving experience in an upscale or fine dining environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of food, wine, and service etiquette
- Experience with seafood and wine-forward concepts highly preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
