Service Advisor

Description

Schumacher Automotive Group in Delray Beach is seeking for a Service Advisor to play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth flow of the service process. This role includes promptly greeting customers, assisting them with any questions or concerns with their scheduled maintenance, addressing and responding to any mechanical or factory warranty questions. The Service Advisor serves as a liaison between the Customers and Technicians, swiftly resolving questions and any matters that may occur.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Greets customers upon arrival and identify the reason for their visit.
• Verifies customer and vehicle information, performs a vehicle walk-around and initiates repair order documentation.
• Acknowledges automotive problems and services needed by listening to the customer’s description of symptoms; clarifies description of problems; conducts vehicle inspection with the customer; takes test drives when needed; checks vehicle maintenance records; answers service calls and schedule appointments when needed.
• Prepares repair orders by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered listing repairs and services required; obtains approval signatures and enters repair orders into the CDK system correctly and promptly.
• Communicates additional repair and service needs to the customer based on additional vehicle inspections.
• Advises customers on any needed routine maintenance work to their vehicle while keeping the customer’s best interest in mind.
• Prepares a complete and accurate estimate of cost for labor and parts.
• Establishes “delivery time” based on initial estimate scope of work,
• Checks on progress of repair throughout the day and contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time.
• Explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
• Explains the work performed and the service and/or repair order charges to the customer.
• Verifies warranty and service contract coverage; explains provisions and exclusions in detail to customers.
• Develops final estimates by costing materials, supplies and labor; calculate customer’s payment, including deductibles.
• Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
• Keeps up to date on job and product knowledge as required by Schumacher or the manufacturer.
• Duties are performed throughout the dealer premises, both indoors and outdoors.
• Work includes frequent movement around the company facilities and the outdoor car lot to move vehicles.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and is frequently required to stand, walk and sit.

Who are we looking for?

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months’ experience providing customer service in a fast-paced car dealership environment required.
• 6+ months’ experience working as a service advisor required.
• Experience in CDK Software required.
• A professional with the ability to work independently, multitask and manage time efficiently.
• Proficient computer skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communicator to support relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Must be available to work Weekdays and Saturdays.

 Education/Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months’ experience providing customer service in a fast-paced car dealership environment required.
• 6+ months’ experience working as a service advisor required.
• Experience in CDK Software required.
• Must have reliable transportation within the West Palm Beach area.
• Positive attitude.
• Strong work ethic.
• A valid driver's license.
