Pay:
$17.13 - $20.04Services and maintains automobiles, trucks, construction equipment and other fleet equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitors, dispenses and records fuel, lubricants and tire disbursements to all assigned vehicles.
Monitors vehicle service and lubrication records, and performs required services and lubrication.
Keeps and initiates service and lubrication records.
Assists in the repair of assigned vehicles and related equipment.
Changes tires as directed.
May be required to requisition, procure, and transport repair parts to the shop and field locations.
Keeps assigned work area, tools, equipment, inventory, and supplies in safe, secure, neat and orderly condition.
Follows safe work practices and uses all required items of personal protective equipment.
In case of emergency or crisis situation (hurricane, flood, etc.) position is required to respond/perform emergency and recovery duties as assigned by the County Manager or designee.
During an emergency or crisis situation, this position will may be required to be present at the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) to provide assistance while activated.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Commercial Drivers License Class B. If you do not currently have a Class B License, you MUST obtain CDL Class B within 120 days as a condition of employment.
Valid Florida driver’s license with clean driving record
A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Any combination of education and experience may be substituted, so long as it provides the desired skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Supplemental Information:
Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
ASE certifications in truck or automotive skill areas preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Frequently positions self to maintain vehicles, including under vehicles and in small interior spaces.
This position frequently communicates with supervisors and other staff to safely execute the maintenance of County vehicles. Must be able to accurately exchange information in these situations.
Must be able to perceive, inspect, and assess safety and maintenance instructions and equipment to execute essential maintenance duties. Must be able to distinguish colors, depths and details to ensure safe and accurate equipment repairs, installations and maintenance.
Must be able to regularly move objects weighing up to 25 pounds, occasionally move objects up to 100 pounds, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
Regularly works around moving parts, in an outdoor environment which may expose the worker to inclement weather, extreme temperatures, excessive humidity, pollution, fumes and airborne particles.
The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and may occasionally be exposed to risk of electrical shock in carrying out maintenance duties.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
