Job Description

Deliver best in class thinking and service to the oil and gas, marine, and energy markets through listening, applying intelligence and responding. Every time. The Fabrication department is responsible for the fabrication of raw materials as needed to manufacture quality Mission Critical Group products in a timely manner. The overall objective of the Sheet Metal Assembler 1 position is to engage in all activities concerned with assembling the structural parts of our products and ensure that jobs are completed and shipped as scheduled while meeting our quality standards. Consistent and accurate modeling and representing the Mission Critical Group brand, mission, vision, values and organizational strategy are essential to achieving the goals of the organization. 

Schedule: Monday to Friday | Occasional Saturdays

Accountabilities 

  • Use technical knowledge to review drawings and parts lists to assemble and bolt together parts using the proper hardware.  Install and properly align doors, covers, hinges, latches, and gaskets, etc., according to client specifications.     
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well‐organized work area.  
  • Coordinate with the foreman to document any engineering or fabrication problems that may cause project delays or effect quality, enabling problem resolution and the delivery of best-in-class quality. 
  • Contribute new ideas to supervisors to drive continuous improvements. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Required Knowledge / Experience 

  • 1 or more years of fabrication and manufacturing experience.    
  • Intrapersonal Skills: Self‐motivated and able to identify, examine, and resolve issues independently from others. Hold a strong regard for guidelines, procedures and integrity.   
  • Engineering and Technology: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. 
  • Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. 
  • Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.  
  • Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Tools include: air inpack, air ratchet, wrenches, sockets, hammer, center punch, tape measure, square.  
  • Computers and Electronics: Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming such as Microsoft Office Business Suite; knowledge of accounting software.  
  • Verbal & Written Communication Skills: This position requires basic skills (ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.)  
  •  Math Skills: This position requires intermediate skills (calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area, etc.)  
  • Arm‐Hand Steadiness: The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.   
  • Visualization: The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.   
  • Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects 
  • Technical Experience: Ability to read and process drawings, cut sheets and parts lists 

 

Education 

  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • Safety Compliance: Zero safety violations or incidents; full adherence to PPE and safety protocol. 

Work Environment and Physical Demands 

  • This is a FLSA non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis. Overtime may be required based on production demands, including extended shifts, weekends, or holidays.   
  • This role is based on the production floor. The position requires standing for extended periods, working around machinery, and adherence to all safety and compliance standards.  
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.  
  • Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.  
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to fifty (50) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.  
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
