Salary & Benefits: $15.50/hr+, with an additional $3/hr differential DOE to start, 20% store discount, accrued paid time off, eligible for company benefits after 90 days depending on scheduled hours 

Hours: 24-40 depending on seniority

Job Summary: The Shift Lead will lead their teams to create a positive shopping experience and to ensure successful operations of the co-op as a whole. They are responsible for upholding all of the Co-op’s standards and policies as well as supporting the management team in identifying needs and implementing processes and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: 

• Direct, support and collaborate with cashiers and stocker receivers
• Learn and uphold all Co-op’s policies, processes, and loss prevention practices
• Ensure the safety and well-being of staff, shoppers, and guests
• Attend, actively participate in, and lead meetings as directed
• Ensure adequate shift coverage
• Ensure accurate reporting, and documentation as needed
• Communicate clearly and efficiently to staff and customers
• Handle customer complaints effectively and follow Co-op protocols for resolving conflicts
• Monitor the store's overall appearance and ensure standards are met for cleanliness, availability of products, properly working equipment, etc. 
• Meet goals for sales, profits, new member sign-ups and other goals as directed

Key Aptitudes, Experience & Physical Qualifications: 

• 2+ years of leadership experience or key holder experience in other industries depending on other qualifications and knowledge 
• 2+ years experience providing service in a grocery, deli, bakery, or specialty store 
• Proficiency in G-Suite, and POS database systems 
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, prioritization 
• Strong Interpersonal skills including; customer service, conflict resolution, creative problem-solving, de-escalation tactics, and critical thinking 
• Standing and walking short distances for up to 8 hours 
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders many times throughout the shift 
• Lift up to 50 lbs as needed 
• Ability to work in varying temperatures including refrigerators and freezers as well as wet conditions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, well-lit environment
