Shift Lead (Plastics) - 3rd Shift - OTSEGO MN

($29.90 to $32.20/Hour) including the 15% differential

3rd Shift - 8:45pm - 6:45am  M-Th

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisors in job scheduling, job set-up, job completion and training of employees to effectively work in their designated areas.

Main Responsibilities

• Obey all safety policies and procedures, always work in a safe manner and report unsafe conditions or hazards.


• Oversee and provide daily direction to the employees within their work area.


• Monitor assigned duties and ensure the processes remain in control and operate efficiently.


• Monitor the process and notify appropriate person when issues arise beyond their abilities to resolve.


• Track productivity provide feedback and coaching to staff and utilize” visual boards” and other methods to communicate to the staff.


• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.


• Assist the Supervisor and functions as their backup when their unavailable.


• Data entry of shift reporting into TMM.

Secondary

• Assist in training of all production personnel


• Maintain work area in a neat and organized manner performing housekeeping duties.


• Attend and participate in safety, toolbox and other meetings.


• Perform other duties as requested by supervisor/manager

 Education and/or Experience Requirements: 

• High School diploma or equivalent.


• Competent in Computer Skills.


• Demonstrated print reading capability.


• Proven training record on set-up and job structure.


• Ability to lead groups of hourly operators.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:   

• Knowledge of T.O. Plastics products and processes is preferred


• Willing and able to relocate to other plant locations for promotions

Work Conditions/Travel:

• Fast paced environment around automated manufacturing equipment and forklifts carrying small to large loads


• High decibel equipment requiring the use of ear protection


• Potential flying debris and dust

• Ability to operate a forklift


• Ability to lift and adjust inventory as needed to ensure safe storage
