Shift Supervisor Security

The Security Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing assigned security operations during designated shifts to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians, staff, property, and facilities. This role provides operational leadership, staff supervision, and real time decision making during routine and emergent situations. The Security Shift Supervisor represents departmental leadership during assigned shifts, ensures compliance with hospital policies and security protocols, supports emergency preparedness and response activities, and maintains effective coordination with internal departments and external public safety agencies. The role is accountable for promoting a professional security presence, maintaining operational readiness, and supporting the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

• High School Diploma or GED
  Class D Security
• FL Driver's License
• Security Officer
• Taser Certification or De Escalation and Self Defense or Supervisory Level IAHSS  

• Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in security or law enforcement is required, including experience in a healthcare environment. 

• Class D and Class G security license required. 

• Supervisory Level IAHSS Certification required within six months of hire. 

• Ability to meet physical and psychological requirements necessary for responding to security incidents, including restraining aggressive individuals without inflicting harm.  

• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.
