Shipping & Receiving Associate

Location: Painesville, OH

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Starting Pay: $18.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team at a high-volume plastic processing facility in Painesville, Ohio. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading materials from semi-trucks, accurately handling shipping and receiving documentation, and maintaining an organized and productive warehouse environment.

Because many of our loads are double-stacked, strong forklift operating skills and previous experience handling large-volume shipments are essential.

Primary Responsibilities

• 
  

  Safely load and unload raw materials, finished products, and other materials from semi-trucks.

  
  


• 
  

  Operate a forklift to move, stage, and organize materials throughout the facility.

  
  


• 
  

  Safely handle double-stacked loads and ensure materials are properly positioned and secured.

  
  


• 
  

  Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness.

  
  


• 
  

  Review, complete, and maintain shipping and receiving paperwork, including Bills of Lading (BOLs).

  
  


• 
  

  Inspect materials and shipments for visible damage or discrepancies and report issues appropriately.

  
  


• 
  

  Stage materials for production, shipment, or storage.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain an organized and safe shipping and receiving area.

  
  


• 
  

  Follow all company safety procedures and forklift operating requirements.

  
  


• 
  

  Communicate effectively with drivers, production personnel, supervisors, and other team members.

  
  


• 
  

  Perform other shipping, receiving, and warehouse duties as needed.

  
  

Qualifications

• 
  

  Minimum 1 year of forklift operating experience required.

  
  


• 
  

  Previous shipping and receiving or warehouse experience preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience loading and unloading semi-trucks strongly preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to safely handle double-stacked loads.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with Bills of Lading (BOLs) and other shipping/receiving documentation.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately verify shipments and paperwork.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.

  
  


• 
  

  Dependable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

  Ability to perform the physical requirements of a shipping and receiving position, including lifting, standing, walking, and operating material-handling equipment.
