Shipping & Receiving Associate



Value Added Distributors is looking for a driven, hardworking, and enthusiastic Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team in Redgranite, WI. This position reports to the Branch Manager and supports daily shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations.

Pay Rate



$17.00 per hour



Schedule



Monday - Friday

8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Overtime as needed

Job Summary



The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for managing the flow of incoming and outgoing products, ensuring accurate, timely, and safe processing of shipments. This includes receiving, inspecting, storing, picking, packing, shipping, inventory management, and operating warehouse equipment.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



• Stock incoming products onto warehouse shelves.

• Pick and pull customer orders with a high degree of accuracy.

• Coordinate shipping and receiving activities with carriers such as UPS, FedEx, Spee-Dee, and LTL freight providers.

• Complete data entry and maintain accurate records within company systems.

• Break down skids and organize incoming shipments.

• Assist with inventory control and product flow to the production floor.

• Deliver products to the proper inventory location, department, or personnel.

• Operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment (training provided).

• Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives.

• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

• Cross-train in multiple areas of the business as needed.

• Support the VAC vision, mission, and values by aligning daily performance with company objectives.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business and regulatory requirements.



Skills and Qualifications



• Ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to build positive working relationships and communicate effectively with team members.

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.

• Experience entering data into computer systems.

• Ability to use and read tape measures and digital calipers.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Effective time management skills.

• Commitment to workplace safety and cleanliness.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.



Education and Experience



• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Previous experience in supply chain, logistics, shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is preferred.

• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.

• Previous knowledge of hydraulic components is a plus.



Preferred Certifications



• Forklift certification preferred. Training will be provided for qualified candidates.



Work Environment



This position is performed primarily in warehouse, production, and loading dock environments that may not be climate controlled.



Employees regularly:



• Stand for extended periods of time

• Lift, carry, and move products

• Use hands, fingers, and arms to operate tools and equipment

• Communicate with coworkers regarding shipping, receiving, and inventory activities

• Read product labels, documentation, and inventory information

• Safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment
