Markley is New England’s largest and longest operating multi-tenant, mission-critical telecommunication, and data center with facilities in Boston and Lowell MA. Markley Properties is looking to add a highly skilled team member to our Lowell Shipping Team. This person will report directly to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor and will be responsible to perform all aspects of the job in the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include handling of all incoming shipments with proper documentation, scanning new
packages, entering package information into the computer system, delivering packages to the proper
location, pulling and staging items for outgoing shipments and performing daily rounds as assigned to
remove trash/packaging from common areas in the facility. Some work with clients may occur such as
tracking packages and coordinating pickups and deliveries.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Responsible for information security by appropriately preserving the Confidentiality, Integrity,
and Availability (CIA) of Markley Group information assets in accordance with the company's
information security program
Qualifications and Skills
• Ability to use handheld computer for package tracking & inventory (IntelliTrack PackageTrack
knowledge preferable, but not required)
• Working knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook
• Good verbal and organizational skills
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of
instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• High school diploma or GED required
• Forklift training or certification preferred, but not required
• Previous experience working in a data center preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA,
FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or
quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other
federal, state and local standards
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk considerable distances in the facility during the course of work
• Ability to exert force up to a certain number of pounds on a regular basis to move packages on
a cart or dolly
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
