Shipping Specialist

At Trico, our Shipping team plays a critical role in making sure customer orders leave our facility accurately, safely, and on time. As a Shipping Specialist, you are the last person at Trico to handle a customer’s order before it ships, which means your attention to detail directly affects the customer’s experience.

This role is a good fit for someone who likes active, hands-on work; takes pride in accuracy; and can stay organized as priorities change throughout the day. You do not need previous shipping experience, but you do need to be dependable, willing to learn, comfortable using computer systems, and committed to doing the job right.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Accurately and safely pick parts for customer orders from stock
• Safely operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jack, electric pallet jack, and forklift, to transport parts from stock to staging or other designated areas
• Ensure products are clean, labeled, and packaged correctly
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions
• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
• Package parts for secure and cost-effective shipment (parcels and skids)
• Safety operate packaging machinery, such as pallet wrapper, bubble wrap machine, scale and labelers
• Using computerized shipping software, accurately ship orders according to customer shipping instructions
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork

Qualified candidates must:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent education
• Have at least 1 year of experience processing international shipments
• Have prior forklift experience
• Within one month, obtain and maintain OSHA-complaint forklift certification
• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with freight carriers, customers, customs officials, and other Trico employees
• Be comfortable learning and using computerized shipping systems, carrier websites, and ERP systems
• Be able to follow detailed work instructions, recognize exceptions, and ask for clarification when information is incomplete
• Be able to lift packages weighing up to 50 pounds and carry them for up to 10 feet
• Be able to stand, sit, bend, reach, and move about the facility
• Display flexibility to accommodate changing tasks and priorities
• Work safely and follow established procedures
