Shipping Utility

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following indicated work methods.

• Makes ready, operates and maintains the Unitizer. 

• Observes and monitors basic machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed. 

• Identifies, troubleshoots and corrects product defects caused by the machine. 

• Performs basic routine adjustments during the shift.

• Identifies and makes basic repairs to the machine. 

• Sets up and operates machine meeting established published specifications. 

• Ensures all units are completed to specifications including “special instructions” if applicable. 

• Loads, unloads, moves, stacks and stages product and materials using a forklift, pull packs or other power equipment.

• Maintains the facilities’ equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspects and performs minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment. Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following indicated work methods. 

• Keeps appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assists in physical inventories. 

• Maintains housekeeping standards all the time. 

• Conducts operations in a manner that promotes safety. 

• Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area. 

• Complies with all IP’s Safety rules and Quality policies and protocols at all times. 

• Responsible for managing the waste of the department. 

• Other duties as assigned by managers and or supervisors/shift leader. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Able and willing to perform and sustain productivity goals (keep the line running, zero down time, etc.). 

• Ability to problem solve with minimal assistance. 

• Be able to communicate effectively with other employees, supervisors, managers, etc. 

• Be able to interpret and understand Kiwi Factory Floor Feedback. (Machine line up.) 

• Be able to read and understand IRF Unit Tracking system. 

• Must have basic computer skills (data entry, etc.) and be able to perform basic arithmetic including additions, subtractions, multiplications and division. 

• Comply with all IPs Safety rules and Quality policies and protocols at all times. 

• Must have ability to learn and understand all operations of the Unitizer. 

• Must have ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. 

• Must have ability to understand and accurately utilize KIWI.
