Compensation: $41,600 - $48,000+ per year (Depending on Experience)

License Requirement: Valid Louisiana Class D Driver’s License Required (or ability to obtain)

The Mission: Lead the Shop Floor

Are you a skilled machine operator or shop lead ready to step up and run a fast-paced industrial shop floor? We are looking for a Shop Foreman / Lead Machine Operator who leads by example, takes pride in quality work, and knows how to keep a team safe, organized, and moving efficiently.

At Metal Supermarkets, we cut and deliver metal orders fast. We aren’t just looking for someone to run equipment—we need a practical shop leader who thrives on getting jobs done right, keeping inventory tight, and leading a small team to success every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Shop & Workflow Leadership: Run daily shift kickoffs, assign tasks, prioritize jobs, and make sure daily production goals are met safely and on time.
• Metal Cutting & Processing: Safely operate and oversee industrial cutting equipment, including hydraulic shears, cold saws, and band saws.
• Quality & Measurement: Inspect finished cuts and customer orders to guarantee 100% precision and measurement accuracy.
• Deliveries & Fleet Operations: Drive our 21' flatbed truck for local B2B client deliveries as needed (Class D license required).
• Warehouse & Inventory: Oversee incoming inventory, operate forklifts, keep the shop floor clean and safe, and maintain accurate stock counts.
• Safety & Mentorship: Serve as the primary safety lead, training newer operators on machinery, equipment operation, and shop best practices.

Qualifications & Candidate Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years in metal fabrication, machine operation, warehouse leadership, or industrial shop supervision.
• Technical Skills: Precision measurement expertise (ability to read tape measures, decimals, fractions, and calipers accurately).
• License & Driving: Valid Louisiana Class D Driver’s License (and clean driving record).
• Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 60 lbs unassisted and stay active on the shop floor throughout the day.
• Leadership: Strong communication skills, a high work ethic, and a natural drive to lead by example.
