We are looking for a highly organized and motivated Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our heavy truck and equipment repair facility. In this crucial leadership position, you will manage a talented team of diesel and heavy equipment technicians, coordinate shop workflow and scheduling, and ensure accountability for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. â Oversee day -to -day shop operations including scheduling, workflow management, and overall productivity to ensure efficient and timely service delivery.
â Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a team of diesel and heavy equipment technicians, fostering a culture of accountability, skill development, and teamwork.
â Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed accurately, safely, and on time — upholding the shop's standards for quality workmanship.
â Manage parts ordering, inventory control, and vendor relationships to minimize downtime and control costs.
â Monitor and report on shop performance metrics including technician efficiency, productivity, and overall profitability.
â Ensure full compliance with all applicable safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies at all times.
â Communicate proactively with customers regarding repair status, estimates, and timelines, delivering a professional and trustworthy service experience.
â Review and approve repair orders, invoices, and related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
â Recruit, hire, train, and develop shop personnel in alignment with organizational needs and growth objectives.
â Coordinate with senior management on budgets, operational forecasting, and capital equipment needs.
â Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment that reflects pride of ownership and commitment to professionalism.
â Resolve technician and customer issues promptly and professionally, escalating when appropriate to ensure lasting solutions.
Requirements
â Minimum 5 years of hands -on experience in heavy truck and/or heavy equipment repair.
â Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory or management role within a repair shop or similar industrial environment.
â Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmissions, and related heavy equipment systems.
â Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of technicians in a fast -paced, high -volume shop environment.
â Excellent organizational and time -management skills, with a strong attention to detail and follow -through.
â Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, wiring schematics, and repair orders.
â Strong communication skills — both verbal and written — with the ability to effectively interface with shop staff and customers alike.
â Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
â Must be able to successfully pass a pre -employment background check and drug screen.
