Job Description - SLPA Supervisor

Adelphi is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) Supervisor to provide supervision and oversight of speech-language support personnel within a school setting in Providence, Rhode Island. The SLPA Supervisor will oversee assigned support personnel, monitor competency and service delivery, develop and modify student treatment plans, and ensure speech-language services are provided in accordance with applicable licensure requirements and District standards.

Requirements
• Meet all applicable licensure requirements and rules regulating the practice of speech-language pathology.
• Be appropriately qualified to supervise Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants and other assigned speech-language support personnel.
• Demonstrate the professional competency necessary to evaluate, supervise, and direct SLPA services.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all direct and indirect supervisory activities.
• Comply with applicable professional, confidentiality, and District requirements.

Responsibilities
• Ensure support personnel are assigned only duties and responsibilities for which they have been appropriately trained and are qualified to perform.
• Ensure students receiving services, or their legal representatives, are informed when services are being provided by support personnel.
• Adhere to applicable licensure laws and regulations governing speech-language pathology.
• Conduct ongoing competency evaluations of assigned SLPAs.
• Accurately document and regularly record direct and indirect supervisory activities.
• Develop, review, and modify treatment plans implemented by SLPAs under supervision.
• Make appropriate case management decisions for assigned students.
• Fulfill applicable supervisory responsibilities governing Speech-Language Pathologists and SLPAs.
• Maintain appropriate professional and supervisory standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
