Educational Qualifications

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) 

  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in ECE field


Social Studies Teacher Responsibilities:
We are looking for an individual to teach Social Studies to our 3 and 4 year old classrooms (Preschool/Pre-K).  Lesson plans will align with monthly/weekly school themes. Candidates will utilize the CT State Early Learning Development Standards to write age-appropriate lesson plans incorporating both individual development and the understanding of a diverse community and environment and more.  In addition, creating unique teaching materials, building classroom environments, and possessing successful classroom management skills are required.  This can be either a full-time or part-time position.

Teacher Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum and Instruction:

    • Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities

    • Foster a love of learning through creative and engaging teaching methods

    • Observe and assess children's development and adjust activities accordingly



  2. Classroom Management:

    • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment

    • Manage daily routines and transitions smoothly

    • Address behavioral issues with positive guidance and support



  3. Family Communication:

    • Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and daily activities

    • Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide regular updates

    • Encourage family involvement and participation in school activities



  4. Health and Safety:

    • Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom and common areas

    • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and procedures

    • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and well-being



  5. Professional Development:

    • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities

    • Stay current with best practices in early childhood education

    • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to share ideas and strategies



Additional Requirements:

  • Successfully completion of state-required pre-service training

  • Develops relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents, and faculty members

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children




Compensation: $25.00 per hour
