Northrop Grumman\u2019s Space Sector invites you to bring your pioneering spirit to our collaborative teams.\n\nAs a Software Engineer/UI Tech Lead \u2013 Level 3 or 4 supporting a team located in Morrisville, NC, you\u2019ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. \n\nThis role will be a member of our Software and Electronics/Payloads Department which has ~200 Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Systems Administrators, Database Administrators, Network Engineers, and Engineering Leaders from entry-level to the most senior chief engineers and architects to Product Owners and Scrum Masters. This engineering organization supports numerous programs across Divisions and Business Units of the Space Sector. We have opportunities for career advancement into higher level technical roles or leadership positions over one\u2019s career.\n\nThis work will primarily be performed in a SCIF environment. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.\n\nWe are seeking a seasoned Software Engineer to lead a small, high\u2011performing development team focused on building and evolving user\u2011interface (UI) applications deployed in cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands\u2011on experience across the full stack\u2014backend services, frontend UI, and cloud operations\u2014and a proven track record of extending existing UI platforms with new capabilities while\n\nThis position is contingent upon the candidate verification/obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.\n\nBasic Qualifications (must have/required to be considered):\n\nThis requisition may be filled at either a level 3 (Principal), or a level 4 (Sr Principal), depending on the candidate\u2019s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment.\n\n * Requires an active U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret (TS) clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) within a reasonable period of time, and ability to complete and favorably succeed a Counterintelligence polygraph\n\n * LEVEL 3 (Principal) - Bachelor\u2019s degree with 5 years of professional experience \u2013 OR \u2013 Master\u2019s degree with 3 years of professional experience \u2013 OR PhD with 1 year of professional experience.Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.\n\n * LEVEL 4 (Sr Principal) - Bachelor\u2019s degree with 8 years of professional experience \u2013 OR \u2013 Master\u2019s degree with 6 years of professional experience \u2013 OR PhD with 4 years of professional experience.Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.\n\n * Experience with Full\u2011Stack Development: Design, implement, and maintain backend services (e.g., APIs, data processing). \n\n * Experience with analyzing existing UI codebases to identify improvement opportunities to extend functionality, improve performance and scalability, and ensure maintainability.\n\n * Experience with Agile Processes\n\n * Experience producing and maintaining architectural diagrams, API specs, and developer guides.\n\n * Experience with TypeScipt/Node.js, React or equivalent (Angular, Vue)\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications (not required, but nice to have): \n\n * Current/Active SCI\n\n * Adjudicated CI or FS polygraph\n\n * Experience with containerization (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes). \n\n * Knowledge of UI performance optimization. \n\n * Exposure to automated testing frameworks.\n\n * Languages: Python, Golang\n\n * Technologies: NestJS, Express, Redis, BullMQ, SQL Database, RxJS, GitLab\n\n * Cloud Services: AWS (EC2, S3, CloudFront, Amplify, RDS)\n\n * Atlassian Suite\n\n\n\n\nIf this job description reads like it was written specifically for you, consider joining our team!\n\nCurious about all the exciting developments with the Northrop Grumman Space Sector? Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
