Description

Job Summary:

The Experienced Manager, SoQM Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting supports the Firm's monitoring and evaluation activities related to the System of Quality Management (SoQM) in accordance with QC 1000, ISQM 1, and SQMS 1. The role is responsible for executing monitoring and testing activities, evaluating findings and deficiencies, supporting remediation assessments, coordinating quality-related analyses, and preparing reporting provided to Firm leadership and governance bodies.

Working closely with other leaders on the team, this individual assists in assessing the design, implementation, and operating effectiveness of the Firm's SoQM, evaluating corrective actions, identifying trends and areas of concern, and supporting the annual SoQM evaluation process. The role serves as a key contributor to the Firm's quality monitoring and reporting activities and provides objective, data-driven insights that support continuous improvement.
 

Job Duties:

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Executes monitoring and evaluation activities supporting the Firm's System of Quality Management (SoQM)
  • Performs testing of controls and quality responses operating within the SoQM
  • Assists in assessing the design, implementation, and operating effectiveness of the Firm's SoQM
  • Evaluates findings identified through monitoring activities, inspections, root cause analyses, and other quality-related information sources
  • Assists in the identification, analysis, and documentation of deficiencies within the SoQM
  • Supports the evaluation of the severity and pervasiveness of identified deficiencies and their impact on overall quality management objectives
  • Assists in assessing the effectiveness of corrective actions and remediation activities implemented in response to identified deficiencies
  • Maintains documentation supporting monitoring, evaluation, testing, and remediation assessment activities

Reporting & Analysis

  • Assists in preparing quality management reports, dashboards, and presentations for Firm leadership and governance bodies
  • Gathers, analyzes, and interprets data from monitoring activities, inspections, Audit Quality Indicators (AQIs), and other quality-related sources
  • Supports trend analysis and identification of recurring themes, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Assists in the preparation of annual SoQM evaluation documentation and other required reporting under professional standards
  • Assists with PCAOB and other regulatory requests related to the Firm's SoQM

Collaboration & Quality Improvement

  • Collaborates with process owners, response owners, inspection teams, and other stakeholders to obtain information necessary to evaluate quality management activities
  • Develops effective working relationships with stakeholders by fostering open communication, professionalism, and constructive dialogue while maintaining objectivity and independence
  • Assists in facilitating discussions regarding findings, deficiencies, remediation activities, and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and professional skepticism when evaluating quality-related information and remediation efforts
  • Contributes ideas and insights that support enhancement of monitoring methodologies, evaluation approaches, and reporting processes

Program Administration

  • Assists in maintaining quality management tools, applications, reporting processes, and supporting documentation
  • Supports monitoring-related programs by validating the completeness, accuracy, and reliability of information used in quality management activities
  • Participates in initiatives designed to maintain standards of quality, independence, and risk management throughout the Firm
  • Applies relevant PCAOB, AICPA, IAASB, GAAS, SEC, and Firm policies with integrity and professionalism
  • Performs other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • May supervise senior associates, associates, contractors, or project resources assigned to monitoring and evaluation activities
  • Provides coaching, guidance, and technical support to team members, as appropriate

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, required

Experience:

  • Six (6) or more years of public accounting, audit quality, professional practice, inspection, quality management, risk management, or related experience, required 
  • Experience evaluating audit quality findings, controls, remediation activities, or regulatory matters, preferred
  • Experience performing research, analysis, testing, and reporting activities, preferred
  • Experience with PCAOB inspections, audit quality programs, or quality management standards, preferred

License/Certifications:

  • CPA, required

Software:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, required 
  • Experience with data analysis, dashboarding, reporting tools, and accounting research databases, preferred

Language:

  • N/A

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills 
  • Solid knowledge of PCAOB, AICPA, and IAASB auditing standards and quality management requirements 
  • Understanding of QC 1000, ISQM 1, SQMS 1, audit quality monitoring, and remediation concepts
  • Ability to analyze complex information and communicate findings clearly and concisely
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across functions while maintaining objectivity and professional skepticism
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with process owners and response owners to support quality improvement efforts through constructive dialogue and effective relationship management
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and continuous improvement

 

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
 

National Range:  $130,000 - $160,000
Maryland Range:  $130,000 - $160,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range:  $130,000 - $160,000
