Job Description - Spark- First Impressions Associate

Spark St. Louis is a catalyst for advancing entrepreneurship, and offers shared co-working space, private offices and custom suites for entrepreneurs, creatives, and innovators, and aims to provide entrepreneurs, creatives and innovators with community and space, allowing them to ignite ideas that transform into successful companies and organizations. Spark St. Louis is the third co-working location within the Spark co-working brand which launched in 2016, with locations in Kansas City, MO and Baltimore, MD.
Overview of the Role
The First Impressions Associate’s role is responsible for supporting the Community Manager efforts to establishing a positive and engaging co-working community culture for members and guests within Spark. This role is the first point of contact with Spark visitors and members, and will be responsible for maintaining a clean, stylish and positive work environment. The First Impressions Associate serves as liaison for the Community Manager and is onsite on a part-time bases. The First Impressions Associate “keeps an ear to the ground” with the Spark community to stay abreast of members resource or connection needs. This role also stays connected to the St. Louis ecosystem to ensure the communities are connected.
First Impressions Associate Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as first point of contact for members and visitors contacting the workspace.
Develop marketing materials and internal communication for staff and members.
Respond to requests and inquiries from members and staff, provide information in a prompt and professional manner.
Basic duties of opening/closing the space: Setting up coffee and water stations, stocking and taking inventory of supplies, making sure common areas are clean and ready for members.
Provides member support, such as helping with meeting room bookings and recommendations
Provides support during private and community events held on-site
Provides support in taking inventory of supplies and contacting vendors
Provides support for event setups and working with service staff & caterers
Provides support in developing marketing materials and communication for staff and members.
Respond to requests and inquiries from members and staff, provide information in a prompt and professional manner.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent plus one year of office clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must speak fluent English.
Job requires ability to perform the following:
Strong ability to provide attention to detail.
Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Handling objects, products and computer equipment/keyboard.
Must be able to safely move about the venue and/or assigned work area.
Other:
Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with guests, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the venue, the brand and the company.
Computer skills including Google Drive, MS Word and Excel.
Reading, writing, basic mathematical skills are utilized often when performing front desk functions
May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
