Special Needs Attendant

Vivalon is looking for a Special Needs Attendant for our North Bay/Santa Rosa Routes! 

The attendant performs a variety of tasks to support the driver in providing safe and proper transportation for our adult clients with disabilities. We provide full training and an excellent team-oriented work environment. Starting pay is $19 an hour. This is a Monday - Friday position with a guarantee/minimum of 30 hours per week.  We offer a comprehensive benefits package beginning the first of the month following one full month of employment that includes medical, dental, vision, chiropractic, life, retirement, paid time off, holidays, and more.

Successful candidates will be able to: 

• Supervise and assist clients in transit.
• Assist the driver in the proper loading and unloading of passengers.
• Know the appropriate use of securing devices for safety restraints, wheelchairs, and seat belts.
• Demonstrate understanding and empathy for persons with disabilities.
• Enjoy working with people of all ages and be sensitive to their needs.
• Display professional behavior when working with clients, co-workers, and community members.
• Follow all health and safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Report any client concerns to the driver and the appropriate management staff.
• This Safety Sensitive position requires the ability to pass a background check. 

• Friendly & reliable plus excellent customer service skills and a desire to help others
• Valid California Driver's License or California ID Card  
• Provide 2 professional references
• Ability to attend a 5 business day paid training in San Rafael, CA (commute stipend provided)
• Pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screen and submit to random drug and alcohol testing consistent with federal law throughout employment
• Candidates considered for this role must be 21+
