Specialist Compliance & Risk Management BUILD Leadership Program

Job Summary

The Acuity Inc. BUILD program is a two-year rotational experience that develops high-potential early career talent into impactful professionals through hands-on experience. BUILD participants rotate to a different functional area every six months to build business acumen and skill proficiency. Upon completion of BUILD, participants will have developed broad business understanding, functional expertise, and the professional skills needed to contribute in future career opportunities across Acuity.

BUILD is designed for early-career talent who are curious, adaptable, and motivated to grow through hands-on experience. Successful participants demonstrate strong learning agility, communication skills, ownership, critical thinking, and a willingness to seek feedback, solve problems, and contribute in a fast-paced environment. BUILD participants are expected to take an active role in their development while building the business, professional, and technical skills needed for future career opportunities at Acuity.

This role is based in Atlanta, GA, and begins employment on July 12, 2027. 

• BUILD participants also participate in personal growth activities to enhance business acumen, including:


• Specialized onboarding for all participants to ensure integration into the organization and program.


• One-on-one mentorship from a Compliance leader for the duration of the program (and beyond).


• Social and networking events to forge connections with peers and leaders across the business.


• Frequent opportunities to collaborate with program peers to learn about various business processes and initiatives.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Compliance and Risk Management Specialists rotate within functional areas, combining individual interests with current business needs to explore areas including: 

• Corporate Compliance




• Supporting our third-party risk management program, including due diligence reviews, documentation, issue escalation, and use of compliance tools and systems


• Assisting with Code of Ethics and Business Conduct programs, training, and regulatory analysis




• Regulatory Compliance




• Supporting regulatory monitoring, tracking, and assessment in key areas including product compliance, environmental health and safety, and sustainability


• Assisting with regulatory advocacy efforts and process improvements




• Trade Compliance




• Supporting global trade compliance analysis, assessments, and audits in key areas including import, export, tariffs, and broker compliance  


• Assisting with global trade regulatory monitoring and analytics




• Risk Management




• Supporting our enterprise risk management program, including risk identification, monitoring, and use of ERM tools and systems


• Assisting with insurance reviewal process, claims analytics, property risk control, and contract compliance

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s of Business in Law, Political Science, Risk Management, International Affairs, Occupational Safety, Supply Management, or Economics or a related field is required


• Ability to develop collaborative relationships at all levels and departments in ways that enhance understanding, respect, cooperation, and problem solving


• Flexible, pragmatic, able to quickly adjust priorities to meet business needs, and manage multiple complex projects at a time in a fast moving, high-changing environment


• Strong ethics and integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality over sensitive compliance matters


• High level of interpersonal skills, mature judgment, emotional intelligence, and independent thinking


• Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency in all work


• Demonstrated problem-solving and time-management skills are required 


• Availability to travel based on business need (up to 20%) is required


• Less than two years of related work experience is highly preferred
