We are currently looking for a Specialist Engineer to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI. This is a highly technical team responsible for ensuring flawless electronic and electrical system performance across a range of ICE, EV, and hybrid vehicle programs. This role requires adaptability, collaboration, and hands-on technical problem-solving in a fast-paced research & development environment.

A Day in the Life:     

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex vehicle electrical and electronic issues, including harness faults, shorts, parasitic draws, grounding issues, and software mismatches.
  • Perform reprogramming and flashing of vehicle control modules.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with tools and systems such as NeoVi Fire 2, CANalyzer, MDI, Oscilloscope, and data loggers.

Who We’re Looking for:  

Required: 

  • 3 to 5 years of automotive repair and service experience.
  • 4 years of Test Technician experience in the Lab Operations Department or equivalent. (Will consider 8 years of Test Technician experience in the Lab Operation Department in lieu of an associate’s degree).

Preferred:

  • Associate degree in an automotive-related discipline preferred

Travel:

  • 10% travel to other Nissan locations if necessary.
