This teacher collaborates closely through co-teaching with the general education teacher to deliver differentiated and small group instruction aligned to state standards, ensuring all students can access grade-level curriculum in the least restrictive environment.

The ideal candidate is student-centered, highly collaborative, skilled in differentiated instruction, and knowledgeable about early childhood development and inclusive practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Instruction & Classroom Support

  • Co-plan and co-teach daily lessons with the general education teacher using inclusive co-teaching models (e.g., parallel teaching, station teaching, team teaching).
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions in literacy, math, and social development.
  • Provide small-group and individualized instruction aligned to students’ IEP goals.
  • Modify and adapt curriculum materials to ensure accessibility.
  • Use multi-sensory and developmentally appropriate instructional strategies.

IEP Development & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collect and analyze student data to track progress toward IEP goals.
  • Write measurable annual goals and progress reports.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with families and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, related service providers (speech, OT, PT), school psychologists, and administrators.
  • Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student progress.
  • Participate in grade-level and professional learning meetings.

Classroom Environment

  • Foster an inclusive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies.
  • Support students’ social-emotional growth and independence.

 Who You Are:

  • A lifelong learner who is open to feedback, new ideas, and continuous growth
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic educator who believes every child can thrive
  • Someone who wants to be part of a special team of professionals making a meaningful difference in children’s lives
  • We are looking for someone who thrives in a startup environment and embraces the energy, challenge, and opportunity that comes with building something meaningful from the ground up.
  • The ideal candidate is a roll-up-your-sleeves team player who is flexible, solutions-oriented, and willing to go the extra mile when needed.
  • Startup schools require adaptability and a strong work ethic, so we value individuals who are comfortable wearing multiple hats, putting in the time necessary to support students and colleagues, and approaching challenges with a consistently positive attitude.
  • If you are proactive, collaborative, and excited to help shape a growing school community, you will be a great fit for our team.

Why Diamond Charter School?
