Job Description - Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

Adelphi is seeking a Certified Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to provide school-based speech and language services to students within a school setting in Providence, Rhode Island. The SLPA will provide direct services aligned with student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), maintain required documentation, collaborate with teachers and families, and assist with screenings and evaluation activities under the direction of a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.

Requirements
• Meet applicable certification and qualification requirements for a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant.
• Be qualified to provide speech-language services under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Ability to provide services in accordance with student IEPs and special education requirements.
• Ability to maintain accurate progress reports, service documentation, and Medicaid billing records.
• Ability and willingness to work as an itinerant provider across assigned District locations.
• Maintain required confidentiality and professional standards.

Responsibilities
• Provide direct speech-language services aligned with students’ IEPs.
• Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff as required.
• Complete written progress reports and documentation in accordance with special education guidelines.
• Work as an itinerant provider across assigned locations as needed.
• Communicate with families regarding home carry-over activities and scheduling.
• Provide home instruction for speech-language services when required.
• Document eligible services for Medicaid billing.
• Conduct screenings and assist with evaluation components assigned by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Maintain accurate and timely student service records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
