Sr. Accountant (Flex, Florida) 6445

Are you a Senior Accountant with strong QuickBooks experience and a passion for building financial systems from the ground up? We're looking for a versatile, proactive, and detail-oriented professional to join one of our clients based in Florida, a rapidly growing audio/video integration business, and help build and streamline its financial foundation. There is no existing accounting structure and no previous accountant, so you'll be setting everything up from scratch. If you enjoy owning a process end to end, combining core accounting with hands-on financial operations, and bringing structure where there was none, this role is for you. This is a flexible, part-time position of approximately 10 hours per week in a structured, proactive environment.

What you'll do

• Set up QuickBooks from scratch, including the chart of accounts, categories, and workflows that best fit the business.


• Manage QuickBooks on an ongoing basis, keeping it accurate, organized, and up to date.


• Handle the full bookkeeping cycle, recording and reconciling transactions on a consistent schedule.


• Prepare and file quarterly sales and use tax returns, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.


• Serve as a practical financial operations partner to the business owner, supporting day-to-day financial decisions.


• Track purchasing activity to give the client a clear view of spending across projects.


• Support inventory control, helping keep equipment and materials accurately recorded and accounted for.


• Coordinate vendor lead times to support the planning and delivery of expanding residential installation projects.


• Design and implement financial processes and controls that can scale as the business grows.


• Propose improvements to the reporting system, tools, and workflow as the operation evolves.


• Maintain strict confidentiality over all financial and business information.


• Keep organized, audit-ready records and deliver accurate reporting on a consistent schedule.

What you must have

• CPA designation or an equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.


• Senior-level accounting experience, with the ability to take full ownership of a company's finances with no existing foundation.


• Advanced English proficiency.


• Advanced QuickBooks skills, including hands-on experience setting up QuickBooks from scratch.


• Proven bookkeeping experience for U.S.-based clients.


• Working knowledge of the U.S. tax and accounting system, including sales and use tax filings.


• Strong operational acumen, with experience supporting purchasing, inventory, or vendor coordination.


• Excellent analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.


• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.


• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet firm deadlines.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.


• Reliable availability of approximately 10 hours per week, a consistent work schedule, and interest in long-term professional growth.

A great plus

• Experience supporting audio/video integration, construction, or other project-based businesses.


• Experience with residential installation projects and their purchasing and inventory needs.


• Knowledge of Florida sales and use tax requirements.


• Experience supporting small business owners in fast-growing companies.


• A track record of designing accounting systems from scratch, implementing efficiencies, and strengthening financial controls.
