Job Description - Sr. Engineer Developer Relations

## \nCompany:\n\nQualcomm Technologies, Inc.\n\n## Job Area:\n\nEngineering Group, Engineering Group \u003e Software Applications Engineering\n\nGeneral Summary:\n\n** Open to hire remotely.\n\nThis role supports a hybrid or remote work arrangement, depending on the candidate\u2019s location\n\nAs a Developer Relations Engineer at Edge Impulse, you will play a pivotal role in engaging, educating, and supporting the developer community. Your primary focus will be on driving awareness and adoption of Edge Impulse\u2019s edge AI technology through a combination of technical content, community engagement, and hands-on development. You\u2019ll act as a bridge between Edge Impulse\u2019s engineering team and the broader developer community, using your expertise to empower developers to build, optimize, and deploy edge AI models effectively with our platform. \n\nIn this role, you will also work closely with the Arduino and Qualcomm Dragonwing DevRel teams to create a seamless journey from prototyping to production, ensuring developers have the tools and support they need at every stage. \n\nThis role offers potential for growth, learning, and impact within a collaborative and inclusive environment. \n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. \n \n\u2022 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. \n\u2022 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with debugging techniques.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Proven experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, or a similar role, with a focus on AI and IoT solutions. \n\n * Proficient in languages commonly used in ML and edge AI (e.g., Python, C++) and familiar with ML workflows and deployment. \n\n * Experience creating technical content, including blog posts, tutorials, videos, and documentation. \n\n * Excellent communication and presentation skills to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. \n\n * Demonstrated ability to build and nurture developer communities, both online and offline. \n\n * Experience with LLMs, VLMs, AI agents or robotics is a plus. \n\n * Fluency in a second language is highly valued. \n\n\n\n\nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:\n\n * Community Engagement: Create and maintain strong relationships with developers across social media, online community channels, Edge Impulse community programs, and events. Try new approaches, new channels, and new messages. Developers are humans with different ways of engaging with people. \n\n * Content Creation: Craft high-quality technical content, including blog posts, tutorials, videos, and documentation, to support developers on their edge AI journey. Be creative and monitor trends in the industry and in the AI communities. \n\n * Advocacy: Be the voice of the developer community within Edge Impulse, ensuring their voices and feedback shape the Edge Impulse platform development and enhance the overall developer experience. \n\n * Events and Workshops: Organize and participate in developer events, hackathons, webinars, and workshops to promote Edge Impulse and engage with the community. \n\n * Support: Be part of the team providing technical guidance. Help developers troubleshoot issues and optimize their use of our tools, always striving to make their experience seamless and productive.
