This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization.\n\n \n\n\nThis candidate will be responsible for the installation, integration and troubleshooting of aviation related Subsystems, component sub-systems, Sensor Management Units, Vehicle Test Controller and Data Recorders.\n\n \n\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\n * Lead Subsystems Lab Integration\n * System integration, test development and execution of various types of complex avionics systems\n * Create and develop documentation for system requirements and interfaces, including system engineering drawings and diagrams\n * Troubleshoot systems to resolve complex issues, interact and coordinate with responsible Subsystems engineers responsible for sustaining subsystems\n * Serve as an interface between the Operations \u0026 Test organization and the engineers\n * Ensure Subsystems performance meets specified levels\n * Proactively maintain overall system performance of deployed systems\n * Perform troubleshooting, document issues and coordinate field replacements/upgrades of Subsystems\n * Contribute to improvement of processes, design and future sustainment efforts\n * Actively participate in Program Risk and Opportunity Management\n * Must be a self-directed technical performer with strong communication skills, demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary technical trades, and ability to develop \u0026 execute to a strategy\n\n \n\n\nHybrid: The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. Once established in role, the position could potentially offer a hybrid work environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at manager\u0027s discretion.\n\nThis position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.\n\n \n\n\nThis position can be filled at the Sr. Principal Subsystems Engineer level, qualifications below.\n\n \n\n\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n * Sr. Principal Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master\u2019s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related engineering experience.\n * Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).\n * Familiarity with systems engineering processes at the sub-system, system and system-of-systems levels.\n * Experience with installation, integration and troubleshooting of aviation related subsystems\n * Experience with Ethernet and TCP/IP\n * experience using mechanical and electrical drawings\n * Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems\n\n \n\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n * Familiarity with Atlassian software development and collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)\n * Experience with concurrent hardware and software development\n * Experience with component selection for system development\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
