Our employees are not only part of history, but they\u2019re also making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Engineer Electronics \u2013 Mission Processing to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Melbourne, FL and will be based within our office spaces to support the program and business needs. Operating on our 9/80 schedule means you will get every other Friday off. This position has NO Hybrid or Remote work available. \n\nThe selected Engineer must possess in-depth knowledge of computers and electronics for mission processing, displays data storage, Networks, CDS/MLS, Crypto and experience in the definition, design, integration, test, and certification of related hardware and software requirements. and will be responsible for one or more of the following; Interpret, allocate, tailor, write and flow down requirements to all levels of a system architecture, Design and develop computer, network and system models and architectures, perform hardware integration and testing, and requirements analysis and collaborate with Integrated Product Teams and conduct Trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) regarding supplier current and future products offerings\n\nJob Responsibilities:\n\n * Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications\n\n * Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate mission management subsystems to meet platform mission objectives\n\n * Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support\n\n * Developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work\n\n * Building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection\n\n * Review documents from the supplier\u2019s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, or Master\u0027s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 6 years of related professional/military experience.\n\n * Experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering in Cameo or similar tools\n\n * Experience in supplier/subcontract management\n\n * Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work\n\n * Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection\n\n * Ability to review documents from the supplier\u2019s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design review\n\n * Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Top-Secret clearance, and any program access required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Familiarity with network, commercial cloud, platform infrastructures and containerized software architecture\n\n * Familiarity with Digital Engineering processes and environments\n\n * Knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation\n\n * Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a close team environment\n\n * Experience engaging directly with internal and external technical and programmatic representatives\n\n * Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills\n\n * Demonstrated ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and independently and work in a self-directed manner\n\n * Experience in model-based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools\n\n * Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)\n\n * Experience AND/OR Certification with cloud and container management \u0026 security technologies such as VMWare, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Docker, Redhat OpenShift, Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Nomad.\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
